K/R with Angie copycat -ETA more pict

So I just received this pants and was playing in my closet trying to decide if I will keep them. And then I saw this Angie’s outfit on instagram and realized I have similar items. I could not resist replicating the outfit. Hope Angie will not mind. Should I cut the tags off?

ETA - played some more this morning. Please ignore mess in the background and my wet hair - lazy Sunday here.
Any combinations that you do and also that you don’t like? Something else I should try? I tucked the tags inside the waist band, they are not off yet

I like how pants fit and feel but unsure about color scheme - see picture. It doesn’t have actually any red in it. Not sure what colors should go with them and if I keep them would they require some new colors in my wardrobe for fall.

Obviously, keep! I don't think you need an exact match to pull the look together. Angie's been describing hers as a "neutral" and it looks like your read that way as well. Love the pintuck.

Looks fab! With the shoes and bag to tie the reds together, no worries about the lack of reds in the pants. It just has to go, not match!

Both you and Angie look great. I think these pants will look great with your white, mustard and red knits and a denim jacket. There is no need for a perfect match in colours. I am sure Angie will be able to give you lots of inspiration as you have similar colours to play with.

I love this! The warm tones make the reds work well. (On my screen it looks like there’s some dark red in the pattern?)

I’m a neutrals girl at heart and would pair them with a black jacket or sweater to let the pants be the standout.

I think the pants look great on you - my only hesitation is your comment that you’d need to buy more items to wear with them. Is that what you want to do as part of a wardrobe refresh? Or will they become orphans?

You are right, pants look neutral from even short distance, but my matcy matcy self is resisting
Redish color in print is more fuchsia so not sure if it goes with red. Except black I am drowing blanks, it doesn’t seem to match any of my colors. But I am open to new color for fall - was thinking something like petrol or teal and there is this nice blue stripe in the print. Maybe navy will also work?

I like the pants with the red complement. I think they would also look great with some of your citron/yellow items. The blue stripe in the pants would make a great contrast in that case.

To my eye the other colors in the pants blend together into a neutral background when viewed from normal-personal-space distance.

Aha . This is the same issue I’m having with a blazer I’ve recently bought for fall and haven’t cut the tags on yet . Mine has red and blue running through the glen plaid , and I don’t wear either of those two colours.....and don’t want to fall into the pit of having to buy new things to pull it all together .

Other than your jean jacket, do they work with other toppers that you already own? if so, it wouldn’t be much outlay to pick up a couple of tops in royal blue or fuchsia. This is assuming that you really want to add new colours.

Anchie, on my monitor the colours look like cobalt blue and wine red (plus beige, greenish/grey, and black). 'Reads' as a neutral. To scratch your 'matchy-matchy' itch, bookend 2 items - shoes and bag, shoes and top, bag and belt. Below are some ideas/inspiration. Ignore the outfits - look at the colour chart. #2 is my favourite.

Why would Angie mind when you look so good ?You both have a similar flair with colour so it’s only natural that you tend to pick out similar pieces.

That said, you need to see if you can find more items from your closet to go with them first.

The new trousers are excellent on you and I like the outfit too. Inspired, but I think of it as adapted, is the name of the game with style isn't it? But really this is a different outfit altogether to my eyes. Great shoes too!

I like these much better. I don't want to call you inelegant, but in my first comment, I intentionally used a word I don't think is in your style descriptor. Although you pulled that look off very well, I think these are much more "you". Predictably, the fuchsia is my favorite here, but the chevrons, the cream, and others all work well.

Well, I don’t think I am polished like Angie and I am not lace and pearls type. First outfit was for a fun, but don’t think I will ever wear it exactly like that.
I don’t have a style descriptors and don’t really know what is my style and if I have any, but this other outfits feel more like me.

After I typed that, I went looking for your style descriptor, saw you haven't posted one. But I think we are agreeing that although the Angie look was fun (There's an idea for a meet-up--we all dress as Angie's alteralteralteralter egos, lol), it wasn't right for you. Many of us can get caught in wearing an outfit that's technically "right" but it still feels so wrong. Pretty cool that you can do that at will!

I've lost track of where you are with your weight and which of those red pieces are which size, but why not give some of them a try?

You have so many excellent options, you may as well snip the tags right now! My favourites are 4, 7, 9, 11, and 12, but every outfit is really nice on you.

Cut the tags!!! 4, 7, 12 are my favorites but the fuschia and citron are great too. (Surprising myself by saying the black combos are lovely, but not at the top of the list.)

Now, hearing pants don't have red or orange I can so relate to your hesitation, but KEEP as they have a beautiful fit! Then, 4,7 and 12 are really more you-and perfect match to blues, too!
