I've had my eye out for a white fabric jacket to stand in for my Bebe when I'm at work, running about and perspiring (the Bebe felt like plastic wrap at work, unfortunately). This one got marked down a good deal, so I tried it. Sorry for the gear and lack of any real effort... not the best mental health day. Pic 3 is the bebe and basically how I'd wear this one.

It has a more relaxed look to it but is a nice light weight. Can't rayon be tricky to care for though?

I like it a lot. Are the sleeves mesh - they look more transparent than the body?

I love it but I worry about the length of the sleeves! Can they be shortened? (Take this with a grain of salt, btw. I like my sleeves shorter than most, I think.)

I haven't had much trouble caring for the rayon I own. The sleeves are not mesh; it's just a thin material. The sleeves could be shortened, but I don't think I would, at least not right away. I have a feeling the elbows would crease up after some wear and pull the sleeve up.

it's a great dupe of the bebe, would you wear long sleeved stuff underneath?

I really like it and just as you are wearing it! Don't know if it is too casual for work, but I love how it looks.

I like the fit a lot and I like the long sleeves! I'm not sure about the sheerness of the sleeves though... are you OK with only ever wearing sleeveless things under it? Because I think any other sleeves would grin through the sheer fabric.

I don't mind only wearing sleeveless underneath... I have plenty of those living where I do. Does it really look too casual for work? I would wear with dress pants and pencil skirts.

Honestly, it doesn't wow me in comparison to the Bebe, but what does? Especially unlined, in a breathable fabric, and in that drapey neckline I like. Is under $40 ok for a stop-gap?

I think it looks kind of flimsy unzipped. It looks much better zipped. The sheer sleeves are a fun element. I think it would work as a stop-gap. Can you get by without a white jacket until you find the right one? If so, I'd save for the "real" jacket and pass on this one. Just my 2 cents. It's hard to compare when the Bebe looks so gorgeous on you--structured, drapey, fab!

Hm, I don't know. My white booties are so comfy, and I need something to bookend them. I have this fleece Puma jacket, which I love, but I figured it is too casual for the job.

If that is the alternative, I think the rayon moto is the way to go. Summer is coming and it would certainly suit your climate.
ETA: Many of your dresses are sleeveless too so the sheer sleeves wouldn't be an issue with those. I like that the body is opaque.

Rae, I don't find transparency of the sleeves that attractive. Forgive me being blunt but I I feel it cheapens the look of the garment. I do think you could find something better:)

I prefer the fleece jacket. Because it is more structured and less sheer, it looks fine for work to me. Doesn't Nordstrom sell a ton of fleece cotton blazers?

That would be my vote.

(I'm just not that keen on Rayon as it wrinkles something crazy and not in the good way like linen.)

Well I can see how the sleeves would be a selling point for you, but I do think it makes the jacket a smidge too casual for work. How about a white vest/sleeveless blazer?

I don't think the sheer sleeves work. I think a better stopgap could be out there. Does that free people linen moto come in white?

I really like it, but did you have a white moto on in one of your photos not too long ago? I think I remember it. Was it leather though, and you're looking for a more lightweight one now?

i really like it. I think the see thru sleeves are different and playful. They remind me of a bomber jacket I used to have. I also don't mind other fabrics peeking thru the sheerness. As a matter of fact, an SA (a while back) had this leopard print cami under a beige mesh sweater and I thought it was the most amazing thing. I vote keep.

What mostly bugs me is along the bottom edge in front in your photo it's sort of wavy looking when unzipped. Can this be fixed by steaming or something I wonder? The CK one is more structured looking but it is a mix of linen and rayon so it would likely have to be ironed. I've searched too and came up with the same one and others in knit but not in white knit. Maybe it could be a stop gap...or you could go with a different style for the white jacket - bomber, blazer, etc.?

My vote is keep too. I think it looks fine even with the thinner sleeves. I think the thin sleeves might even be nice since they will be cooler while you're running around at work. Are the sleeves really that noticably thinner or is just the camera making them look more sheer?

Well I quite like it - it's got a soft, drapey quality that appeals to me and for hot weather, will be comfortable. It will work well over your sleeveless dresses. I don't mind the sleeves at all.

I love it too. I don't think that it would be too casual, since one wears leather with "dressier" things all the time too. I think that it adds a lot interest. I also love the CK one that Ceit linked too.

The sleeves aren't a different material - not like a sheer mesh or anything. The whole thing is just a thin material and the sleeves show through more because there is only one layer, while the body has two layers.

I would probably only wear it zipped, as that is how I liked the Bebe jacket most anyway.

Raisin, my other white moto you refer to is pleather with a poly lining, and it made me sweat too much at work.

Ceit, the CK moto is so pretty! But I think linen will get even more wrinkly than rayon. The Free People one didn't look great on me in any size I tried. :T

There is a cotton one I might consider, too, but I am waiting to hear about measurements.

Is it knit on the undersides of the sleeves? If it is breathable and comfy then go for it. I think I must have a poison eye for sheer and sheerish sleeves.

I agree the other would be wrinkly, but I think it would look intentional wrinkly and not rolled out of bed wrinkly. But I love linen, and love when it creases.

OOH, now this is what I'd *love* to get instead! Not even that expensive at $199, but no way for me to try it on. Danier of course. Not sure why I keep browsing there, lol.

I find the see-through sleeves un-versatile because you can't layer them over very much. I vote return.

That said, it's a great HIGH Summer cover-up for hot weather! And I mean outside, not in arctic a/c.
