...I entertained myself in Winners today! I tried on over 30 items and almost everything was a miss...except two things which came home with me. Now I need your opinion on them!

Micro hound tooth cropped trousers. They fit really well IMO and I was looking micro check pants forever! In pic 2 tried them in 3 different length: as is on the left, one time roll up in the middle and two roll ups on the right. Which is the better length - or they are not worth keeping at all?

I think the fit is good and I liked it in the store. However at home I am having second thoughts. First of all I already have a color blocked tunic in the same colors (see pic 4) but it is shorter so can be worn with leggings or skinnies only (I don't feel comfortable wearing tunic that short with tights) while I can wear this dress on its own with tights or hose. Also I was trying to style it and I think it has limited possibilities for remixing. I can see it with a black t-neck layered under and maybe a black shirt or with a black jacket over (I have 2 of those) It can also work with my grey and emerald green riding jackets and maybe cream blazer but this is about it. The ponte it is made of is too thick for really warm days when you can go sleeveless so I cannot wear it in summer unless we have really cool days. So what do you think? Too similar to my other tunic and not versatile enough to keep? Or worth keeping anyway?

I like the micro checks! Not sure on the length - to me they all work. I do see how #4 is more of a duplication of what you already have, color wise, but the shapes are different. Honestly, I prefer the tunic you already have.

I want to like the pants, but something is not quite right. I love the dress on you. The limited wearability gives me pause though.

I like the trousers! Preference for the middle length in #2, one roll. The dress fits well on you but it seems like it would have limited seasonal versatility and does duplicate your existing tunic to some extent. You don't sound like you love it.

Anna, I am not sure about these metal rings on the pants, especially on the back. If I keep them I would remove those rings for sure.

Well then keep the pants. Since they're only $20 and you have no other non-denim.

Many times the cost of an item is a deal-breaker for me, but twenty dolllars for these pants is a bargain, b/c they fit very well, and will work with lots of colors. I like the middle length with one roll.

The dress is too similar to your tunic, which looks wonderful by the way, and I prefer it over the dress.

I think those pants would make great knee length walking shorts. I find the length a bit off but think a bit shorter would make them a winner.

I love winners. I will have to drop by while on vacation this week.

Pants look good to me. I much prefer them rolled - both the longer and shorter rolled lengths look good to me. The length unrolled is fine but I don't like how the opening is a bit wide. I prefer the more tapered look you get when you roll them.

The dress is really lovely on you, although I do agree that it is extremely similar to your tunic and would probably serve the same purpose.

The pants look great and I do like them rolled both lengths. I think the dress is pretty but if it is really limited in styling you already have that fab tunic!

I agree, I think I would like the pants better without the metal rings. Both of the shorter lengths look good to me, but I think that cropping them rather than rolling them would preserve the clean line.

LOVE the dress! It's a very different silhouette than your other color-blocked dress, even though the colors are similar. And weren't you just saying that it's hard to find a dress cut the way you like?

You look positively stunning in that dress Sveta! I think it's different enough in style from the tunic that it would still be worn. It might also look fab with a button down underneath come cooler weather.

The fit of the pants is really good and these could be very versatile, but I don't like the length as is. I prefer the shortest roll (#3) and think they'd be great hemmed at this length.

The pants look good to me and I like the styling suggestions already given. I do like the dress but prefer the tunic you already have.

And Sveta, do me a favor and try the NAS CK red/black/khaki color-blocked dress when you get to the sale. I know you said it would be too short, but every time I look at mine, I keep thinking that you would look simply fab in it. The colors would be so flattering on you, and I can definitely see you wearing it mod-style with leggings and flats:)))

Gosh, i just really don't like the length of those pants. Could definitely just be me since I like my crops longer. The dress looks really fantastic! I think the length and the sleevelessness make it different enough from teh tunic.

I am definitely keeping the pants: it is so rare for me to find non-denim slim-ish trousers which fit in the hips and in the thighs without being too tight. I also like the pattern of mini-houndtooth. I just need to decide on the best length: maybe Angie chimes in with a suggestion?
Beth, you helped me to make up my mind about this dress - thank you. Actually I saw and tried on a very similar CK dress to the one you suggested in Winners today (must be from a previous season). It had the same colors, possibly the pattern was different but the overall effect was pretty much the same. I loved that dress but in was a bit tight in 10 and they did not have 12 in the store. I can pop into another Winners tomorrow to see if they have 12 in it. Anyway after reading your post I realized that this blue/back dress does not fit my style as well as the tunic I already have or that CK dress. It goes back tomorrow.

A bit late, but I prefer the colour-blocking in your previous tunic dress, and love the fit and neutral colour of the pant- a great buy!

Aw, I really LOVED the dress on you --- but if it's not working in the wardrobe, it's not working.

*nice* pants, though --- I prefer the middle length too (one roll). Preserves the long, lean line and also hits at the most flattering point. You *could* go shorter and look great; but I think with fall coming, the longer length may be more useful. You could always switch them to shorts next summer if you wanted!

I vote keep the pants IF you remove the rings and shorten them to just below the knee or at the knee. Like you said, they go with everything. I would wear them with untucked yet fitted tops (in that case you don't even need to remove the rings).

I kind of like the dress, fit is very good on you. Remixing ideas: with a black t-neck, with a white button down. With a black blazer. With a sweater (to skirtify the dress.)

That dress is EXTREMELY flattering on you and that blue is to die for. I don't even consider it a duplicate of the tunic, which to my mind looks pretty plain next to that dress. I think that layering it with a black turtleneck top will look great paired with black tights and black boots. Yes, it's only two colors but I love the combo.

The pants are ok, but I don't care much about pants lately so I don't know.

I like the pants and think they are a bargain! I like them slightly rolled I think. I think I prefer your existing tunic too - I think it's more flexible and I like the position of the blocking in it better than the dress.

I really liked the dress too. But you know best what is needed in your wardrobe. Just remember the shape and cut of the dress, very flattering for you. Now that you have the pics, you can always bring them to a tailor the next time you want to alter a dress.

I like the pants a lot! Metal rings and all. Long or rolled. However (and I know it probably wasn't intentional) I recommend wearing a different bra with that cute white top.

Tags came off from the pants and so did the rings! I have decided to hem them a little bit - just 1" - to the more flattering length on my legs. I am taking them to hem to my mom tomorrow and hope to sport them some time this week!
Dress is going back today. It is nice but not 10 for my current style and wardrobe. Now if I ever can lay my hands on one of these two dresses and they are of a decent length on me it would be a totally different story...

I'm glad you kept the pants. The fit is fabulous! You were smart to realize that the dress isn't quite what you want. The red color-blocked ones are amazing! Hold out for one of those!

Good decision on the pants - you'll have fun with a non-denim pair you can wear in the summer

I'm sort of sad to see the dress go back. I understand if it's not clicking with your wardrobe the way you want (you are the Queen of remixing!!), but it was a great fit and awesome color.

You always (eventually) find the perfect piece
