K/R: Which top looks best with these floral pants?

I had a pair of wide legged blue floral pants (kind of like silk pajama pants) that I wore a lot in the 90's and sadly eventually donated it, but I have been looking for a new pair of floral pants ever since they've come back in. I bought these size 8 floral pants at H&M. They're cropped ankle length, which I know Angie doesn't care for. But they're only $14.95, which is the perfect price to try out a new trend! The size 8 did not give me muffin top unlike the 6, so I went with the 8 even though the fit is a bit looser. It's 98% cotton 2% spandex but doesn't seem stretchy at all (more like pants than jeans) so I don't think it will bag much.

Which of these H&M tops do you think goes best with the floral pants? I'm trying out some new pastel colors for me--sorbet colors, as Angie suggested. Aside from the cut of the tops, which color looks best with my complexion?
1-5. H&M pants
6. White graphic T
7-8. Salmon textured floral T
9-10. Peach long sleeved T (a little worried this may look too much like pajamas with the pants though)
11-12. Raspberry cardigan open
13-14. Raspberry cardigan closed
15-16. Cantaloupe graphic T

I also tried out a pair of Paige Skyline Skinny jeans in floral (17-19), what do you think of that one--is it better than the H&M? The Paiges are $189 though, so they'd have to be 10X as fab, LOL!

Just saw those pants in Lucky (the one thing I could afford in there!). LOVE THEM. I prefer them to the Paige because of my color preferences. And there will be plenty more florals to come, so I'd keep the cheap ones to see if you love the trend. It does seem very much your style!

Both pants are cute - so it does seem the H&M is the way to go for now.
I like the raspberry cardi but also all the scroll printed ts - nice mix with the floral.

Una, you should get a pair of these H&M ones! Weren't you the one that started the floral jeans thread? They look similar to the ASOS one in color and print.

Yeah, I would but we don't have an H&M here and they don't do online. At least I don't think so - will have to look! I think you should wear these with a black and white striped top.

Great suggestion--I do have a black & white top! If you can't find it online, let me know and I can look for one for you next time I go out there.

I think the raspberry cardigan is the loveliest colour on you. Not surprising as it seems to be the most saturated! And both of those pants are cool, in different ways. The Paige looks like the texture is nicer, but it's up to you if stuff like that weighs a lot on your decision.

I like it with the salmon and raspberry! I didn't think I would like floral pants, but these are kind of cute!

I would not pay $200 for a pair of jeans that are on trend (mostly because I'm on a tiny budget) but if you love them, then why not?

I like the first pants better (still not on the floral pants thing) but would prefer it with woven tops (fitted blouse untucked or drapey top) Not loving the knit tops. For this trend I personally would dress up the pants more. I think a dressy top and little heels or ballet flats so it's intentionally adult (and more your style) IYKWM?

I have to admit I am not super digging these pants. How about pairing them with a silky boxy blouse or a denim shirt? I love the corals on you but don't live any of these combinations.

I definitely prefer the H&M pants. I would rough them up though. Amongs the tops, I like the coral cardi the best, but I'm envisioning some UWP madness with them. They all look too sweet. What about Una's suggestion of a striped top? It sounds fantastic. What about a simple white or black top and jean jacket? Or a leather jacket?
Remember Angie's outfit with the floral Kate Spade skirt, for NYFW? She kept the top and shoe choice minimal, to let the print of the skirt do the talking. That's where I would go wih these pants!

Natalie, I think the salmon and raspberry colours look best on you, esp raspberry --- which leads me to suspect (along with your red top in the last set of photos) that you wear colours that are 'bluer' better than 'yellower' shades (coral, cantaloupe). This also reminds me of Angie's comment on your 'wearing mint' thread, where she felt it was too sage for you (sage is yellower than mint).

As for the pants, I can't honestly say I think Paige is 10x better! However, the H&M seems to be cropped. Would you prefer something longer for versatility? In which case Paige is the way to go. Another thing that irks me a bit about the H&M (whose pattern I prefer, maybe because it is darker, but that's a very subjective opinion) is the pockets --- I don't like the way they're sticking out sideways at your hips. Do you plan to sew them shut if you keep the pants? Otherwise, again, go with Paige. Or keep looking for a lower price and better product.

You look so springy Natalie! If you go for the H&M pants, I would have the front slat pockets removed and stitched shut. They kind of stick out otherwise - I've done this now to a few pairs of pants and it's always been worth it.

I like the H&M pants but I would sew the front pockets shut. I don't love the length but, like Angie, I kind of have a poisoned eye for ankle pants. I wonder if there is enough hem allowance to let them out an inch or so? Not loving any of the top options, I'm afraid. I'd try it with something blue and blousier.

I much prefer the print on the H&M but I do think the jeans styling of the Paige might be more flattering. Probably not 10X more flattering though!

I tried those H&M pants on a while back! They were too low rise for me and the fit was off...I sort of see the same issue with you in these pics. I think, at least with the solid knit, fitted tops, they might be emphasizing your tummy. If you are bent on keeping them, I would pair them with a woven boxy top, say, in silk or denim like Rita suggested. I agree with Diana re. the print/fit of the H&M pair vs. the other pair.

Ok, I looked again. I think I changed my mind. I'm not too crazy about either one. The Paiges look as if you were growing some sort of skin illness all over your legs, from a distance, and the H&Ms are fitting a tad off on your upper bod.

I think the H&Ms are still a good bet for just trying out the trend.

I love these pants and I'm gonna copy you, gosh darn it! I like the crop-sleeved orange top best. If you think you'd be cold, I'd do a long-sleeved tissue tee underneath.

Don't like the second pair of floral pants at all. I see them slipping too easily into frump-ville if you're not doing hard-rock shoes and accessories.

I honestly like th Paige pants a lot better but I don't know if they are 10x better! As far as the color of the top for the HM pants, I really like the raspberry colors but I think a leather jacket would look even better!

I vote for the H&M's, too, but also vote for a more structured top to go on top, I don't like the knit one's with them, although the colors are pretty!
