K/R: Vince sweater, Fly London ankle strap sandals

The sweater was NAS. The shoes were a last minute toss-in-the-cart because I need new sandals and these ticked most of the boxes (ankle strap, suitable for walking long distance, flat). I like both, but for the cost, I could go either way.

FWIW, I have a total of two pairs of sandals, a utility pair and an older set of suede Birks. A pair of older Converse complete my casual summer footwear. I had been planning to buy a new pair of sandals but hadn't yet searched. Recently, I started to plan a trip for late winter and realized I needed more hot weather clothes. I anticipate that these sandals would get worn often for the rest of this season, plus during my trip in early spring. I was hoping to get a color closer to my skintone, but the other color (same size) didn't fit at all, and these bookend my hair. Should I keep looking, or do you think these will be versatile enough? Are ankle straps going to date soon?

I've looked at other options (Naot, Birks, Gentle Souls, etc), but they have more support than I want or need.

I really like the sandals. The sweater is fine, good, but I don't love it as much.

You talk a lot about the sandals (need, etc.); you didn't mention the sweater. Does this sweater fill a hole in your wardrobe? How does it make you feel?

I really like the sandals and don't think ankle straps will date quickly. Are they comfortable enough for the extra walking you'll do while traveling?

I have that sweater too and I'm still debating it. I will say that pictures do not do it justice. When I look at pictures I decide to send it back and when I look at it in person I decide to keep it. That being said, I think it looks great on you. You'll just have decide if it's something you want/need for the money. I say keep the sandals. Sounds like you need them.

Word Lily- I have more sweaters than sandals, but not nearly enough. I was targeting to add one in this price range for the fall/winter, and I really liked this when I saw it online. I think I am hesitating because I wasn't mentally ready to commit!

Approprio- my practical side is pretty strong, I am slow to warm, and I don't pay enough attention to my heart. Thanks for the reminder! After wearing the sandals around the house and trying them with a few bottoms, I know they will get used. I know they aren't flashy, but they will serve well.

Elle, they are very comfortable. I walk 5-7 miles a day in minimalist shoes, so these should be great.

AviaMariah- I reread what I wrote, and,yes, it really does sound like I need them!!! Lol. I am still trying to balance frugality with living life more fully.

aha! This is the sweater I received, but was convinced I didn't order. I am so confused that I can't even figure out what I did order based on style numbers on the shipping bag etc that don't match what is on the website. And I totally agree with AviaMariah that it is so much nicer and richer than pictures indicate.

Anyways - I really like those sandals. My experience with Fly shoes has always been positive, and I've never regretted the extra $ spent. This is such a classic, rich colour!

I don't know yet. I have to go back over the bill and see if i can figure out what I thought I ordered. I also need to see exactly what I paid for it and decided if I really want it. It's pretty darn nice though. It's just that the description on the bill doesn't match the description on the bag sticker, and I had zero recollection of even seeing the sweater before - lol.

I like both. I also have a few pairs of fly london shoes and would agree that they are very well made. They are also quite comfortable.

I like the sandals! I think with your hair, they work well and you don't have to have disappearing nude color.
This sweater has puzzled me. I do believe it may be the IRL vs photo thing, It's a color I love but I have not been sold on the photos, partly because something about the type of color-blocking looks very casual to me, like a gear sweater, yet people love it. It may be the fabric and texture do a lot more in person. The color is good for you.

Oh, I'm the outlier here. I LOVE the sweater on you. I think it looks effortlessly chic, interesting, a little bit boyish but not too boyish. Gorgeous colours and drape.

The sandals are "okay" in my books. If a HEWI for you, then keep.

I am with suz. I really love the sweater on you. It really suits you. Love those colours. The sandals are fine so I would say keep if they are comfortable.

I did think about that sweater - because of the back and the colour, but that front neckline is way too low for me. So I am pretty sure I didnt 'order that one. This is SO WEIRD. But, the more we talk about it, the more inclined I am to keep it. It is pretty darn chic. And, one of my "new " colours for fall will be this scarlet-ish dark red, I've decided.
