K/R -- Two necklaces and tops

#1/2 Bib Statement Necklace -- My mother hates it, thinks it looks too fake-gold-trying too hard. One (young male) co-worker disliked it, one (young female) co-worker liked it. Overall I would say I got more negative than positive feedback, but then again, I live in a town where I have never seen anyone wear these types of bib statement necklaces.

BTW, the top in #2 is going back, not flattering on me I think. Good color, poor silhouette. (Everything worn in #1 is owned.)

#3 Dagger Pendant -- I kind of like it but am having doubts. What do you think? Worn with identical top as in #2 but in pale blue, also going back. Again, I like the color but not the shape. But you are welcome to disagree!

Love the gold but the dagger looks kind of cheap hot topic to me.

I love the bib necklace but not sure about how it works with these necklines. I think it needs to not be touching any cloth, or else sit clearly on top of it. Bah to naysayers just because it's never been seen before!

Love the dagger necklace, of course. Are you okay with the length?

I am not a gold fan so perhaps that is why, but I don't love the first necklace. I do like the dagger, but wonder if it's hanging a little too low?

Una -- I'm fine with the length, I didn't style it right here. I have tops I could wear it with. My concerns: is it too fantasy or goth for my style. And, it is a combination of very shiny gold and shiny silver which feels incongruent to its style.

I do like that it could double as a letter opener or weapon though...

I love the bib necklace and I agree with AG that it would look better with a different neckline. I also think that maybe it is a more "getting dressed up" necklace than a "jeans and T-shirt" style. The dagger I like for a more casual style, but I would also like to see how it looked a few inches shorter. I think the length would be fine for a dress, but to my eye it sits too low on separates.

Sharon, you are a wise woman. The bib necklace does need dressing up.

The dagger is not adjustable so that might be a reason not to keep it, I don't wear dresses, I wear separates.

I love the bib necklace - I would be all over that if it was in silver.

The dagger doesn't grab me as much but possibly that is just because it isn't me.

I really like the dagger, if the chain can adjust up a bit.

I think I agree with your mom, though, that the gold bib looks kinda cheap/fake. I think you can find a better one that will do your style justice.

I'm going to be a total nutcase and say I don't care for either necklace, but I really like the coral top on you!! It looks so springy and lovely with your coloring. I think the slouchy silhouette works well with your collection of skinnies.

I love your style, but I'm not feeling these necklaces. You can definitely rock a statement necklace, but the first one is a little too "Mr. T" to my eyes. And the dagger necklace makes me think of the HBO series True Blood. . . who knows, maybe a sexy vampire is about to pop out at you! That would be awesome.

That coral is beautiful on you in #2. The top seems a little too short, though.

I feel weird giving all this negative feedback. I need to go eat some chocolate to recover.

The Yay and Nay votes for both pieces were just about tied. I think it's time for me to practice some of the Ps ... patience and pickiness.

I'm not sure the bib style is right for my very casual lifestyle, plus it is very heavy. The dagger has to go back, it's not adjustable. I feel bad, I am returning everything I purchased from this order (there's another sequin top I won't even bother to show you). I wonder does anyone else ever feel guilty about returning EVERYTHING?

Regarding the coral top, I am glad to hear you all think it's a good color on me. I think I will hold out for one that has a more flattering fit/is longer. Again, patience...

I agree with everyone who says the dagger is to low, but I think it is really cool and edgy as a pendant. I think the bib necklace is great but if you style it incorrectly it could look very cheap.

Update: Dagger pendant is non-returnable. New mindset: time to awaken my inner UWP. Plus it makes me think of "Game of Thrones" which I love!

I find them both to be really interesting pieces. The gold one is really dramatic and is fab. The dagger is just too long. Can you change over the chain? I see it sitting just below you bust line.

Chiming in to say i think you made teh right decision re: bib. I like the overall concept of it for you a lot! But it seemed too shiny, not organic enough to be as flattering on you as you deserve.

Frankly, i like the dagger! You are unusual in having the body and the moxie to pull off that long necklace with a great pendant! If it seems too shiny maybe you could rough it up with some comet or pumice something? I also think it could be fun with another pendant hanging there with the dagger, even a feather or oak leaf could be nice.

I like the daggar necklace! There must be someway to shorten it; can you gather up the chain in back and fasten with something!

Also like the coral top! Are you sure it is too short? I like the hem and the color is great!

denise, don't feel bad...just ordered 6 items and all of them are going back. i feel bad when an sa at nordies locates a hard to find item and it just doesn't work, but not bad enough to keep it!!!

Perhaps finding a new chain for the dagger? It is SO Game of Thrones.....
