K/R Two Jackets (Pic Heavy) - YouLookFab Forum

No WIWs from me the last couple of days because I've been ill (flu? in any case, recovering quickly). Since I am up and about a bit today I spent some time trying to style a couple of jackets that I ordered recently and am on the fence about. I'm not much of a jacket wearer, but I have been considering a BF style jacket with a narrow lapel for some time, as well as a white denim jacket for spring/summer.

K or R?
If I were to keep one, which should I keep?

I'm sorry but I think you need to keep them both
The white is a great casual jacket and looks great in every shot and the blazer looks really versatile and .......again.......perfect
I really like the way you've styled them, lots of wonderful looks here.

I'm drawn the the boyfriend blazer over the denim jacket, but maybe that is because it is a fresher look for me. How do you like the fit? I'm not sure how they are supposed to fit but wonder about a size down. I like how you have casualized it with the hoodie in 6, and I love your Westie sweater!

They are both very different from each other, and as such i see them filling different wardrobe needs. If you can only pick one, i'd go with the blue blazer. IMO it's much easier to dress a blazer down than to dress the casual white denim up so i see more versatility. (although versatility isnt the only thing we need in our wardrobes.... ) What are you aiming for with your new topper purchase?

Thanks for the feedback, all I do like both, just trying to decide whether they are "me" and will be worn regularly, or will sit in the closet mocking me...

@pil - re: the blazer fit, it is a touch loose in the body, but any smaller would be too small across the shoulders. Plus it's not available in a smaller size to reorder

@Sarah A. - you're quite right, they are pretty different... I'm not really sure what I am aiming for. Panache, I suppose? A little variety in toppers from my usual cardigan? I guess the blazer is more of a cardigan replacement for the office, whereas the denim jacket would be for weekend/friday wear only.

Exactly what you said in your last sentence- the blazer is a nice update to a cardigan for office wear and the white denim looks great for weekend fun. I vote keep both IF you think you will wear them.

Both look wonderful on you and could be workhorses from what we can see of all the great stylings. I vote keep both.

*If* you can only keep one, my vote is for the blue blazer. The blazer can dress up or down and go anywhere.

I too vote for both. They are both classic and you style them well. I especially like 4, 9, 6. and 10. but all look good o you.

Both, of course! But the blazer has a slight edge if only one can stay.

They both look fabulous. If at all possible, I think you should keep both. If it's only one that can stay, I say keep the white denim jacket. I have one that's 5 or more years old, and I wear it ALL the time. It goes with everything and is extremely versatile.

really didn't intend to buy two new toppers this month... so I thought I might keep one or the other so as to not overstuff my closet with new things! I am trying (with limited success) to buy less and enjoy what I have more. I originally ordered the white denim jacket to try after deciding to return the blazer. When I had a change of heart about the blazer I thought I might return the denim jacket and repurchase later, maybe on sale.. but really, it is just $39 at full price and I would be disappointed if it sold out in my size.

I do really like both and I think I will keep them. I will just have to be cognizant of sticking to a plan for my purchases going forward. I'll probably throw some thoughts up on the forum about that soon.
