Also from Clothing Exchange, two jackets - are they worth keeping?

#1-4 is a velvet blazer. I thought it was black, and even in the photos it looks black, but in the bright sunlight, I would call it super dark indigo. Does it go okay with black? Or should I think of it as blue? It's Pendleton, but not wool. I think I'd probably wear it - a dark blazer seems like a wardrobe staple, but I've never had one, so I'm not sure.

#5-7is a really wild and crazy blazer. I'm not sure that I could wear it in public without feeling like a clown. But I think like it. I have a few ideas for ways to wear it, if I can get the courage to. (With black, with black and white, with turquoise and black, with a red shell underneath and black or turquoise skirt...)

Both fit well, at least as well as I can tell (I don't know what to look for in fit, I don't think).

What do you think?

the blue velvet looks great as a structured textured piece. wearing blue with black is IN, baby.

the second jacket is a lotta look...if you like it, wear it like you mean it.

The blue jacket needs to be treated like blue, but that doesn't mean you can't wear it with black. It seems to fit well, and I like the length.
The second one is hard for me to picture in other outfits, so its hard for me to say. I'm not usually big on color, but you could persuade me if you show me some outfits.

Keep the blue one for sure. It looks good!

The second one seems to fit well. I am with bj. If you like it and can wear it with purpose, go for it.

After all, it doesn't' cost you anything to try!

Dark blue is amazing with black. This one looks like a winner (BTW to check the fit of the jacket look how shoulders fit)
I am not sure about the second one, looks like it washes you out a bit. You look better in stronger colors.

Keep the blue for sure! It would look great with black.

The second one I am biased against...I had a prof once who loved "zany jackets" and this is too close to that for me. It does seem to fit you well in terms of shape!

They both fit in the shoulder. So that's a relief. I'll see if I get a chance (maybe on dress-up Saturday), to try out the colored jacket in a colored outfit, just for fun. I think you're right that the color is too light for me - I go for deeper colors.

I like the first jacket and think you will have a lot of fun styling it. Jacket number two seems a bit "loud" to me, but I'm a pretty conservative dresser! As the others mentioned, if you like it then it's yours

The cuts don't look dated to me and if the fit feels good in the shoulders then you are golden.

The blue blazer ia a classic cut & style so a no brainer to keep as a good basic piece. The second coat could really go either way depending on how you style it - very individual piece.

The first one is amazing, color wise, and nice fit-wise except I think the sleeves seem a bit short. I like my jacket sleeves to end in the middle of the fleshy part of my thumb when i have my arms at my sides. here are some ideas for remedying this:
1. roll the sleeves up
2. wear a sleeve under that is a bit longer (not the BEST option, but might help)
3. tailor if there is enough seam allowance.

The second one is CRAZY. LOL. But if you love it I can see it working for you! However, I do not like it with the eyelet top. This needs a modern, sleek outfit to play well with the print, IMO. And I don't think it has to be strictly matching, either. I think with this jacket it's more important to get the "vibe" right than the colors.

I think they both fit very well and are not dated at all. Check out the blog Wardrobe Oxygen if you get a chance. Today she's wearing a very bold patterned dress - might give you some ideas for the printed jacket.

I do have room to lengthen the sleeves -- almost six inches to play with in there! So thanks for mentioning that, I'll let them out an inch or so.

And I do have a couple of ideas for styling that loud jacket. But I suspect it'll go back anyway - I like colors, but usually as solids

As for the second, see if you can style it with 3 outfits. If so, keep (if you love it!)

The navy jacket is nice, but I really like that print jacket! I think the white blouse underneath is what is washing you out. Can you try it with a deeper color underneath? I can see this jacket in a pattern mixing scenario with a polka dot or stripe. . . .Hope I didn't give you heart palpitations! The jacket is wild in the way that Pucci prints are busy, but the colors (at least on my monitor) are mid-tone and not intense, so that it tames it down quite a bit. But if you think you'll never grab it because it makes you feel too uncomfortable, send it back.

I adore the indigo. I also really like the Wild Thing and agree with DonnaF that you'd usually be wearing it with stronger colors (black, red, turquoise) to set off your complexion.
