K/R Trouve leather jacket

First look here at this jacket completely unstyled. I've admired it many times online and came face to face with it in store today. I went ahead and bought it, but with the knowledge that I'll return it if it's not good. If I keep it I'll get the arms hemmed.

I think I really like it, and if y'all are inclined to like it I'll style it up and have my daughter take better pics. I'm just that combination of slap out tired and excited about a find that causes you to throw it on, not check your hair, and take pictures for your internet friends.

I'm going to post my two other leather jackets in a comment.

These are the two leather jackets currently in my closet. I will admit I don't wear them as much as I'd like. I love the tan one. I like the black lemming one, but often wish the lapels were slimmer and it zipped.

Well I really like it. This black looks like an exact of the Tan you currently own. I would say get it and try it although the black in the comments section is beautiful on you. You have to love it or it will hang in your closet.

Thanks, Ledonna. It is really similar to my tan jacket, although I think the tan one is a tiny bit shorter and a little smaller through the body. The new jacket is actually a very dark blue. It's an amazing color, which is a huge part of the appeal.

The color sounds amazing! Does it come in petite, Traci? I feel like it might be overall a bit long on you. Perhaps it's just too long for a dress?? Have you tried it with jeans/pants yet?

Thanks, Jenn. That's what my daughter kept saying, that's it's just so classic. I actually thought it may be on the small side, but seeing the pics I wonder if it's on the big side, for leather, since it will give some. I had a thin cardigan on in the store when I tried it on and it worked over top, but probably not over something much thicker. I'd never wear it closed, but I like knowing it *can* close.

Carter, I'm not sure if it can work over *a* dress, but it definitely doesn't work over *this* dress! I was just too excited and too tired, to even change into a proper underneath outfit. If I get consensus it's worth styling I'll try it over trousers first, and then over a longer dress or skirt.

Jaileen, it is very smooth and soft. It also has the knit panels in the arms so it moves nicely.

Well, that was pretty short lived. I tried to style it with slacks and a sweater and it was so blocky and lacking in spunk that I didn't even bother photographing it. I'm moving squarely into the return camp. I sleep on it tonight and see if I can come up with better styling ideas. My closet is a bit out of sorts right now, but I don't want to spend a ton of time,energy or money trying to force this jacket to work.

I was going to say that it looks a little big/long on you. Maybe try it in a size down, it is a great jacket.

Gorgeous jacket. Definitely style it up and try different sizes if available for comparison. I love the fact that it is blue as well. I am wearing my new blue leather moto more than any other leather jacket in my closet. It's brilliant -- strong but softer than black so a bit easier to deal with, if you know what I mean.

Great color on you. I think it might be worth trying a size down because of the sleeve issue, but I know what you mean about wanting the jacket to zip up even if you never wear it closed. I'm struggling with the same issue. How was the sizing on this one? The other Trouve leather jackets I tried were pretty tight in the arms and I have slender arms.

Suz, I do know what you mean about it not being as strong as black...that appealed to me too.

Goldenpig and Tanya, maybe I will try the size down since it's available online, before I completely write it off. Looking at the size chart I think this one is actually up a size for me...I thought Trouve ran a smaller cut, but I guess not. Good news for me!

I really really like dark blue. I can see why you wanted it. The shade looks delicioso.
Maybe keep looking for something in a similar shade.
