One of my style goals this year was to focus on outerwear. My current lightweight/trench type of coats include a taupe one that is 10+ years old, and a fun dark denim one with a hot pink lining. I was looking for something in a brighter color (so not the traditional khaki or black), lined, no hood. Here’s the first group. Would love your thoughts, including if there are others you’ve seen that I should try.

1) Talbot’s red trench, including this just for good measure. It’s not lined, so wasn’t quite what I had in mind. (ETA- this one is a size too large, but I was trying it on, just to get a sense of whether I’d like it.)

2-3) Ralph Lauren trench- this is lighter than the Hobbs. Belt seems a bit short, but I think looks fine in the pictures.

4-7) Hobbs coat in two different colors. The details are gorgeous, including bound buttonholes. The blue is a fallback, obvious color for me. The chartreuse is a bit different- my kids and DH both like it the best. I’ll be wearing the coat over mostly black or navy bottoms, or dresses in various shades of blue.
