K/R: TOMS "Desert" Bootie - YouLookFab Forum

Normally I wouldn't do a K/R on something I love this much! But these booties were not on my list, do not fall into the colors I thought were mine, and bear an uncertain relationship to the style I'm trying to figure out.

I saw these last year and loved them, but didn't buy for the above reasons. When I saw them again I convinced a friend to buy them for herself, hoping that would take care of my longing. It didn't.

So here they are. I have semi-styled them with a variety of bottoms. I do love them--perhaps they'd make a nice change from black?

One more thought--my stylist keeps making my hair lighter--I give him complete creative control. Maybe that's part of why I suddenly want taupe suede?

Oh, also--they gap (pic 6). What do you think? I am open to your thoughts because of all the uncertainty.

I do really like them for casual wear, and I like them with the outfits posted here. I think keep if they fit into your lifestyle or if you have a casual shoe hole to fill.

I love them on you but I love the look of desert booties. These work especially well with the light color in your top. You look effortlessly stylish in all of these!

Rae, I have a pair of black wedge sneakers that almost look like desert booties. I also have black cowboy-ish booties that are casual. My workplace is casual enough that I can wear any of these plus the TOMS. I have enough casual shoes, but none of them are taupe. (I do have a pair of dressy cognac booties.) So the question is if I have a taupe bootie hole that I didn't know I had! I have to say that you're not helping because you have dark hair and rock the taupe booties!

I have similar in a light grey, and they really give a lift to casual outfits.
Mine are not for walking distances though due to the heel, the only negative.

I think Shannon just bought these too. If they are comfortable and you think you will wear them a lot, I say keep! It's nice to have a non-black option.

Sometimes the heart just wants what the heart wants. Maybe you're not able to rationalize why these sing so loudly to you, but clearly they do. I vote keep. This sort of thing may even signify an upcoming shift in your style, or a lingering substyle you weren't really aware you were drawn to. They look great in all your outfits. I have the charcoal gray wool ones and get compliments every time I wear them.

These are not a "break the bank" item, and they've stayed on your mind for over a year. I think a few items here and there that are on the "big plan" is fine, and gives you a chance to play outside the box a bit!

I bought a pair of taupe suede boots last year and I love them. No problem finding opportunity to wear them, even though they're not in my "palette" and they don't bookend my hair.

These look terrifc. The gap is tiny....no problem there.
