K/R: Tiered striped neon dresses from Target

Found these this morning on a Target run. They are (shh!) from the girls' section, but I tried them out anyway. The lengths are a bit inconsistent - as you can see the teal color is longer than the yellow. The front side is constructed like a B44/ CCV dress, but cut way less bodycon, which I like for a more casual look.

What do you think? MDAL?

I quite like the longer one for a light summer dress - I could see this also working as a cover-up at the beach too. (I have beaches on the brain - was just looking at swimsuits online.)

I've been trying to talk my youngest into that dress! It's adorable. I think it looks great from the front but something looks off to me on the back view--the wrinkles at the waist?

I really like the first one on you! And I've tried jackets in the girls department of Target too! They sometimes work for the shrunken jacket look.

I vote return on both--they don't seem to be cut for a woman's typical figure (one with hips), so they are bunching up at the waist in the back, plus they look a little short. Just my two cents, obviously, from the Land of the Curmudgeons!

I like the blue best. The back is a little wrinkly - is the way seams are sewn?

They're cute, but I'm 100% sure about them. They seem to bunch up in the back. I think they may not be cut to fit hips.

I'm not too crazy about them either. The fit is a bit sloppy. I vote return.

I vote return both, Rae. Sorry to be a mare :(. The fits are less than stellar. As a beach cover-up dress over a cozzie they are passable - but not much past that.

Sad they don't fit so well on your curvaceousness. Maybe size up and hem as a loose tunic. They are really cute. I kind of want to go try some on tomorrow - I'm not very curvy.

I didn't see these at Target today. Then again, I was in the pet food section for the most part! I vote return - these are just not as fab as your other tiered dress. It's hard to pass up Target prices though.

Thank you all for your honesty - I have this back issue with some tees and tunics, too, so I was not sure if it was one of those things only *I* would notice, you know? My booty kind of forms a shelf back there, lol. These will be going back - on to the next adventure!

It has nothing to do with your fab figure, Rae. It's because it's cut for girls that don't have a waist or hips yet. It looked great on my 11 year old and awkward on my teen. Neither one loved it--I tried the hard sell on the 11 year old but she wouldn't bite!
