My husband and I were looking for a coat for him. He found this sweater thinking it might fit him. I looked at it and thought, no way, the wrists are very tapered and the collar was too narrow. I decided to try it on. DH thought it looked fine, but he is an outdoors type. I took it home for $5 and have a week to return. It is handknit, 100% merino wool, and soft.
When I was younger, I always wanted a sweater like this but they were too expensive for me. I run fairly cold and appreciate a nice thick knit. When I could afford it, I couldn't ever find one I liked. They seemed too bulky, or cut wrong for my bust/shoulders, plus I had a stream of bulky wool sweaters from the Andes from my extended family.
Opinions on this sweater? My 6 year old thinks it is way too big. lol. If nothing else, I could wear it as gear but I am wondering if it has any current fashion value considering the oversized trend and the sleeve taper.
