Sorry to be such a forum hog. I found these casual dresses and would appreciate your opinion. The cerulean fit and flare and the black/white sheath are contenders for graduation. Do these look dated? Too matronly? The gingham is from the Gap—kind of a wild card but I liked it a lot. I can wear it to work. The reviews said that it was I’ll fitting—snug in the hips and loose on top. That sounded like a perfect fit for me! The navy romper is a step above my usual chinos and tee for casual weekend brewery hopping. Thanks for looking.

I like all of them. I'm no help. The romper is especially cute. Usually they look too young, but your's is quite modern looking.

The blue dress is nice. It could work for you with a bit a jewelry, I think.

The black and white dress is smashing! I think it's head and shoulders the best of the dresses.

I am not a fan of the third dress. It feels off to me. Maybe it's the fit. Not sure, but I would say return.

The romper is cute, but I always reserve judgement on those as I think going to the bathroom shouldn't result in me needing to strip down.

I love the black/white sheath on you, and the gingham is fabulous in an unexpected way. The blue is fine. If I hadn’t seen the other two, it would seem like a standout piece. The romper is cute, too.

THe black and white sheath is perfection, and with fitted styles making a return I think it looks very current. The print is awesome on you. I prefer this model to the lower waist of the blue dress , though that color is great on you, and I prefer the larger size of the print to the smaller gingham, though that dress is fine too. I’ve got no appreciation for rompers, ever, so can’t comment on those

My favorite is 1/2, the blue. The fact that the pattern does not match up on the side seam on the blacK and white is my only complaint. If it does not bother you, keep. The Gap dress and romper are ok. Go with your gut.

I like the gingham and the romper for stylishness. (Brewery hopping sounds interesting.)
The other ones are good but more simple.

Oh, for graduation, I’m not sure which dress I’d pick. I love the cerulean colour. I think I might pick that as black/white might be more of a winter colour scheme.

I like the first two dresses best. The gingham is a little odd with the gathering around the abdomen. Your figure is fab and this dress does not flatter it very much. The rompers are cute. If you can put up with bathroom undressing, then keep them.

I like the 2nd dress. You look so amazing in black and white. The romper is cute but I go to the bathroom every 3 seconds so I could not imagine wearing such a thing.

I really like the gingham dress - it’s my favourite, it looks great on you and is fun. The runner-up is the black and white - beautiful on you!

I love the gingham,the romper is cute and the black and white is nice too although obviously a little more formal.Not so keen on the blue,it’s a gorgeous colour on you but I think that I prefer you in clothes with a little more waist definition.

They all look super on you. I don’t think the dresses are matronly or dated. I’d rank the items in the order you have posted the photos! I’d wear either the blue or black/white dress to graduation. I can’t choose!

Well, I'm no help. I love them all on you! What is the fabrication of the first blue one? It might skew a bit casual for a graduation -- not sure.

The gingham is fun. I love how you read reviews and picked the dress that seemed to match your body type modifiers. One woman's poor fit is another woman's fab fit!

The second dress is so great on you, and looks like a perfect graduation (or other event) dress. The first is nice too, but didn't wow me the way the black and white patterned sheath did. The third is great, but does the waist sit a little low on you? The romper is cute.

You have a great selection to choose from. My fave on you for a graduation is the black and white. That one could stand alone. I really like the blue, too. For a graduation I think a few accessories would be nice. I really want to love the gingham....there is so much there that is gooood! Something about the fit seems off to me.....maybe the waist area, with the gathering? It doesn’t look awful, but that area does draw my eye, which takes the focus off of you. The romper is super cute!

The black and white dress #2 is my favorite, closely followed by the blue in #1. Not crazy about the fit of the gingham. Would you mind sharing finds for #1 and #2?

HAH. I’m a spanner. #3 is my KILLER fave. I like #1 next. Elegant and pretty. I like #2 next. My least fave of the lot - but still very nice. You look gorgeous, Kelly.

I vote return the romper. You can do much better then that silhouette. The fabric is making it look off to my eye.

I think you look great in all of them and I liked the gingham on you too. I have a couple of rompers that I wear in hot weather and I love them as a dressier alternative to shorts. If you don't get this one, I think you have the perfect figure for rompers, so you must keep looking.

Thanks for sharing your opinions. It’s always so helpful. I have such a hard time with dresses. I feel like I go through this exercise every few years and it always seems to be for graduations or weddings. The blue dress appealed to me because of it’s simplicity. Besides my navy Theory, it would be the only “nicer” dress that wasn’t a print. I much prefer prints but feel like they are more memorable especially when there are pictures involved with the same family members. Both of the nicer dresses are DKNY outlet dresses. I found the blue one at Marshalls and the other one on the clearance rack at the outlet. I rarely shop at outlets type stores but in the spirit of leaving no stone unturned...

@Thistle: Thanks! Agreeing that the blue dress could be dressed up, I think. IKWYM about the gingham. I think it might be JFE.

@Kathie. Thank you! I loved the blue dress until I found the black and white. The blue will likely get returned.

@Liesbeth, Joy, Jaileen and Cardiff girl: Thank you. The two dresses are definitely on opposite ends of the fit spectrum, aren’t they. I gravitate towards the flares because I feel like they balance my shoulders. This one though may skew a little conservative because of the length--or something I can’t quite put my finger on (it could be lack of waist definition.) I couldn’t decide if it was classic or bordering on frumpy.

@Smittie: Thank you for sharing your keen eye! Hopping is a relative term. I usually only make it to one brewery and enjoy a flight of beers.

@Style Fan: ha! Thank you. This one is stretchy and easy to maneuver. I like that there isn’t much fabric to worry about hitting the ground. A different story with my long sleeve one.

@Katerina: Thank you. I loved the gathered detail on the gingham. I’m willing to sacrifice a little figure flattery for that. I thought it was fun and satisfies my longing for a gingham dress--the Boden one was in my cart forever but after my last attempt with their wovens I’m not biting.

Aurore, Aquamarine, JJsloane, Isabel, Lisaflex, Mary: Thank you! The black/white print was found on the clearance rack at the DKNY outlet store. I’d never set foot in that store before so it was a complete surprise.

@Suz: Thanks! The blue is a polyester of some sort. It’s funny that you think it skewed casual--I thought it was a little dressy. Some of my best purchases have been made reading reviews of things that were too tight in the hips and too wide on top. I look for that now!

@Janet and Mainelady: Thanks! I think i just need to cinch the waist a little more. That might help. I like the simplicity of the shorts style romper. Easier to wear than a dress. I feel like I’ve got work and casual attire down but the “going out casual” capsule is tough. I don’t like to look too dressed up but I don’t want to go out in chino shorts and a tee either.

@JIIG: Thanks! I don't think I'll see if I can add finds but they were found at outlet stores so I'm not sure they will be available.

@Angie: Haha. You're a spanner again! Why is that I have such a difficult time discerning elegant and frumpy? I must work on that super power. The romper will go back. Thanks for sharing. Everything is still in the bag! No tags have been cut.
