I think the color and silhouette looks great on you! What material is that dress? My hot pink dress has a similar effect of showing all the lumps and bumps that don't even exist (or I refuse to accept that they are there :D) I use a shaping camisole to smooth out things (I am not sure if that is even an option under this dress). My dress is made of rayon.

Else stick on bra it is

I think it's all about context. In Hawai'i you'd be fine even if you were not on a beach vacation. I see this as a beachy day dress or a casual evening out because of the jersey fabric. Red does not say anything blatant or latent in itself in my mind.

Wait, you are back to FL? This type of dress is what people wear there.

You look gorgeous in that dress. Perfect for a hot day about town.

Cute dress! I'd wear that as a day dress in DC, so it seems like it should definitely work in FL.

Hi Mo --

Interesting read! Coming over from your other thread, to me this dress is very versatile for your lifestyle, climate, and location. Seems easy to dress up or down.

The only thing that bugs me is the strap/bra situation, but that's a personal bias.

If that bugs you at all, I'd either wear a tank style half-cami* over your bra and let those straps show, or see if I could get a tailor to widen the straps with new (maybe contrasting or printed) material. The latter is a project, I know!

*I have had great, worth-the-money luck from SecondBase camis (I think they have a 15% for new customers if you ask, and they do have sales every so often). You can always try to hack off a cheap tank and see if it rolls up on ya.

The video shows that it does stay in place on you and seems to be fine for Florida - you don't look hoochie. lol. As long as the BF doesn't think so, you're all set.
(yes, the video changed my mind)

I should reiterate that I did change my bra for the video to the one I hope fits best. This may sound dumb, but I think I wear them wrong (lol). You always hear about keeping the band even or lower in back, but I think I wear them all around too low. Hiked up the straps and things seem a bit better. (That's what you get for not having a mom around growing up to teach you things like bra fit.) I need to look into a strapless for next year for sure. If I can solve that, a lot of my summer fit issues will be solved.
I am also embarking on a month long 100 push ups app on my Kindle, so hoping to firm up a bit, too

Mo, I swear the half-camis will change your life and be much more enjoyable than a strapless, ha.

I am a late and reluctant convert to push ups and light hand weights but started doing them this summer [Conveniently for dress shopping, I was in the middle of the new routine when I found out about Fancy Wedding.]

Probably since I do *nothing* for upper-body strength, I felt and saw results pretty fast. I'm sure they'll disappear just as fast if/when I stop, but at least I have a new baseline.

Don't know whether you're a novice or getting back into it, but good luck with the strength-building and its bonuses!
