K/R: Target Silver Slouchy Skinnys

No sizing up or down, this was the only size left when I went to go find the Prabal Gurung for Target t shirt which I had wanted that wasnt ever shipped to my store. I saw these and thought I would give them a whirl as a replacement (not completely literal, but in functionality) to my black straight legs and bone colored baby wale cord bootcuts that were purged a few weeks ago. They read gray in the pics and the mirror but have a bit of sparkle in real life. The fabric is fairly light weight, which i suppose good for spring though.

Thoughts on the fit?
Was I blinded by the sale price?
A fun way to try a trend?

Honestly, I think they are too big. You're getting extra fabric across the front.

Check to see if these have a caution tag warning that the metallic can rub off on furniture and such and in the wash.

Oh yuck. I dont see any... Was it a hangtag or sewn in? If a hangtag i am worried it was removed but the fabric could still be the offending fabrication.

I like the idea, but worn as is they look too small to be slouchy and too big to be skinny. Can you tug them down a bit and wear lower on the waist with a belt? If so they could be considered moer slouchy. Do they seem like they'll stretch out to this? Is this the look you're going for?

This is the problem with sizing up with the very thin stretchy denim -- it doesn't have enough structure to hold the extra size and slouch. I think they just look like they are too big.

Are you wearing these with the waist up where your normal skinny jeans would be? I have a strong preference for slouchy skinnies to, well, slouch... it is the factor that makes crotch drop make sense to my eye - otherwise I start to see what IK sees. Have you tried sagging them lower on the hips?

The crotch sags about 1.5 or 2 inches... I think the fabric is maybe too thin to work like this.

Sometimes, I feel like its really hard to "see" a new silhouette or fit. I'm so grateful that the rest of you are trying out these pants, too. I'm taking notes!

As for these pants ---- have you styled them with your existing clothing yet? I think the overall silhouette is key. I think slouchy skinny denim is actually tougher than bf's or lightweight slouchy trousers like those sported by Sveta and Shannon.

You, of course, are adorable, and you have the trim, athletic build that can pull off almost any pant style.

Joy -- I wondered why there was no Lurex on the content label -- they must spray the sparkle on and thus it will fall off... everywhere.

Beth Ann -- My eye is adjusting as well

I have a tendency to buy things I think are "interesting" versus things I love or are easy to work with. I think these are a return.

I agree, I think these are a return. The thinner fabric doesn't seem to drape well when sized up, and I think Joy is right. I think those are the pants that leave a bit of the self behind wherever they go.

Sarah, the ones I brought home before finding the warning tag on the waistband (not a hang tag) were a light silvery color. There were also some sparkly colors and black with the same warning. If there was a tag on yours, it could have been removed or they may be ok. Can you rub them hard against an old towel to see what happens?

Am in agreement with Rae and Ceit... it's one reason sizing up doesn't ALWAYS work... The cut is what makes the difference. They are pretty cute though.
