K/R: Summer Tops - YouLookFab Forum

I would normally never do a K/R with tops. Because if I liked it ... I like it. Right? But, I have decided to be ruthless with my shopping henceforth. Whether I like it or not, it has to go if it doesn't fit/flatter me well enough. Hence it's up here for your critical analysis I am wearing them with white skinny jeans for contrast.

My critiria for selecting tops this season:

1) Summer weight - breezy
2) Dressy - the most important criteria because I have plenty of casual tee like tops.

Here we go -

1) First up is the top that I wore yesterday with my pale blue skirt. This is a shade deeper IRL (lime). Do you think it's worth duplicating this top in different colors? They had sky blue, mint and black.

2) Crochet neck sleeveless top

3) Eyelash trimmed lace top polka dotted top

4) Light weight strass detail black top.

5) Cropped boxy orange top with pebbled fabric.

6) Just for fun - Rimmel Green Eyed Monster on my nails!

I could keep all, but only if they are perfect. Now on to you. What do you think?

#1 is not what I would call 'dressy', but I really like the fresh colour for Summer!
I am not convinced about #1 and 3 in regards to length, but this is being super-picky after reading your post
The others are Fab, and fit the bill for nice variety.
#2 is VERY breezy!

I'm not sure what sort of tops you're after, do you need basics or some fresh fillers. Therefore, to cover both bases, I'm voting 1 and 5. To me they are 10/10.

I love the colour of 1 on you and it's basic enough, but interesting because of the colour, that you'll get a lot out of it.

5 has wonderful, interesting cut.

The others are nice too, but not more than that. Somewhere between 5-7/10. You can get tops like that any time (I think).

Btw, all my comments in the next several weeks should come with this disclaimer:
Bear in my mind that at the moment I'm in a overwhelmed-by-what-I-owe mood. I'm packing for the move and nothing gives you perspective then when you put all your clothes on one huge pile and realise there is no way you can wear it all - AND you also know you'll be tempted to add more stuff as the season progresses because you'll inevitably be tempted by something you like.

In this set I like you in the tops with sleeves, Neel- sleeves to be more balanced (with these pants at least). And brights! You look great in these bright colours! I particularly like the colour and shape of the orange top on you!!!! Insert foxy wolf whistle right here!!!

Meanwhile I have realized that 2 is non returnable because I used a gift card on it. So I am stuck with that.

Out of 1,3,4,5 - I am leaning on returning 3 and 4. I realize I already have a polka dotted top and The black top just seems too long to wear untucked? I am not sure.

love the color of #1. same with #2, color is great, but i don't love the shape. i agree with you, i think #3 and #4 are the least fab of the group. love the color of #5, the shape is good as well, is the back longer than the front?
the green nails are a fun summer look!

I like # 5 best!agree sleeveless look too short and somehow proportions off.
# 1 maybe due to color but # 5 is better.

All of them look good but I agree with the general assessment that #1 for the color and #5 for both cut and color are the stand outs. The white jeans and pumps are fantastic!
