K/R summer shoes

I was delirious and MIA for a couple of days. Obviously not thinking right on triple points weekend also or it could also be my lack of options in my shoe size. Since I moved back to the SF area, it's been notoriously hard to buy shoes in my size, so snatched up these two pairs after discovering gift cards I never used (how am I so absent minded?) Anyhow, K/R wedge or Ballet or both? Seems kind of frivolous to buy shoes I can't really wear to work much, but I sort of can.

They're both really cute, and would be perfect for S/S. I would say keep, especially if you are needing some warm weather shoes.

Both GORGEOUS. The flats are AGL, right? Very comfy.

Have you tried these? A size 5 might work. I found them to run half a size large. You can also get them at Nordies:

Thanks raisin, I should only keep (at least my budget says so). I'm trying to buy some non black shoes (says the girl with 80% black shoes)

Angie thanks! I will definitely go find that shoe. I think I avoid shoe shopping because I'm a true 5.5, I keep getting measured hoping that I'd be able to buy more lower priced shoes (they only start making shoes 6M+ in a lot of brands so disappointing because they used to make affordable smaller shoes)

It's hard, I know :(. Plenty of affordable shoes in your size in Hong Kong. I have a friend there who wears a 5.5 and she has a fab collection. Not that that helps you right now. *sigh*

I should just save my spending for when I travel there on vacation! You would think companies would think demographically when they purchase goods, because they would sell more shoes if they actually stocked more small sizes.

I get impatient with online shopping! I want to touch, feel try in store!

I bat for Team Store too, Kalli! Get to Nordies today. Find a fab SA and ask him/her to bring you out as many 5.5's as possible.

Angie- Lol, good suggestion except but I did that yesterday which is why I ended up with the 2 shoes above. Seriously 2 out of the thousands they had? Are you kidding me? I also did this at another smaller Nordstrom on Friday (none?). It's that bad here that I am sure women with better relationships with the SAs hold them. My wallet can't afford that kind of SA relationship.

Also due to my shoe problem, last year I went regularly once/twice a month to check and still no luck. I think these women shop a couple times a week!

You and my mom have the same shoe size! In my part of the country, no one wears it, yet, the stores stock it. She regularly gets 80-90% off of all of her shoes because they are so hard to sell here. My size 9 boats, however, sell out so fast I never get shoes on sale in person!

That said, I really like the ballet flat better. This is for a couple of reasons:
1. Peep toes make my feet hurt just looking at them
2. Peep toes with a wedge make my feet cry
3. The ankle strap always worries me about shortening my already short leg line.

Otherwise, they are both fab. Which mixes better with your current clothing?

@Thistle- no kidding, I'm feel like crying when I shoe shop here. Let's trade places, your size is plentiful here.
I got talked in size 6s sometimes for lack of options but I hardly wear them.

Hmm I'm building a wardrobe around my shoes... JK, I see myself wearing them with my whites and denim chambray.

I also love the ballet flats. The patent toes make them a little dressier too, especially if they peep out from a pair of trousers.

Have you tried shopping girls shoes in cheaper brands? That might be another option!

@annaj, love that solution but girls shoes don't seem adult enough to me unless they are just casual shoes. They also skimp on comfort because apparently kids don't seem to care as much ad picky adults.

I got wiser, I think I just buy less shoes but the right one regardless of price up to a certain point. I resole shoes all the time.

Oh, shame! Here, our kids shoes are often mini versions of some of the adult shoes we have! I didn't realise it would be so hard!

Oh Kalli. I'm sorry you have such a problem finding your size in shoes. Those ones pictured are both lovely though. I'd be tempted to say keep both! My problem is that I cannot wear ballet flats as I have really slim heels and they just fall off, so I look for strappy shoes now. I'm a bit in between sizes and I have more luck, if some run a bit big.
