K/R Suede Handbag

I found this grey handbag and really love it, except that it's suede. It's expensive, but I bought it with a 25% off coupon. I like the shape, the quality and the lack of branding. Plus, it's not heavy, a bonus for my neck and shoulders. The store doesn't have it in any other materials, but I found it at some unknown (to me!) boutiques in a black and brown leather. Here are my questions: 1) is it too big for my short frame? 2) I live in Seattle. It's suede. Will I ruin it? I could plan on wearing it only on days when it's not raining, but what if it starts raining in the middle of the day? I am *not* an umbrella girl. The SA said that a spray would help, but I don't have any experience with that.

The bag does look pretty big on you, but if it's comfortable for you to carry it might still work for you.

Don't know about suede in rain, as it doesn't rain in California (at least this year).

The spray does help, but you have to reapply every so often (6 months? 12 months? I forget.). It's really a cute bag (I might find it irresistible), but it does look a little big, and with the care concern ... is it still comfortable when it's full? (In my experience, bags seems to accumulate as much as they can hold, at least sometimes.)

It does look very oversized to me. Have you tried it with your usual stuff inside to see if you like how it looks? Nice colour though.

Marmee I think it's too big, honestly, even though it's really cute. And the light color makes it look even more apparent. I'm sure it would otherwise work for Seattle with a good coat of Scotchguard. I think you could find something more in scale with your body if you kept looking. Unless of course, you reallllly need a large bag.

Agreeing that it looks awfully big. But try it with your stuff inside. Speaking for myself, I always find bags like this a major frustration because of the lack of structure. I lose everything when I need it. But if that doesn't describe you then it's not an issue. I'd worry about the rain in Seattle as well. Still....love is love. And that colour is really gorgeous!

Me? I like big bags, but I do think that suede adds beauty but limits wear. It's a beautiful bag. It would be lovely in brown, too.

Okay, I've decided to return it. It's beautiful, but too big. And the rain thing...I think I'd be neurotic about getting it wet. The funny thing is that I didn't notice the size in the full length mirror at the store, but I did when I looked at the picture I took to post.
