Lovely ladies, you're probably not keeping track, but I am. This is my third post in one week! I hope I am not trying your patience, but I need your collective wisdom.

Angie wrote about the sporty luxe becoming main stream, and I have proof. I bought a pair of trackish type pants - a complete wild card for me.

I have three questions:

1. Keep or return? Does it work?

2. What do you do with the darn self fabric belt? I failed knot tying in Girl Guides (I was much more proficient in starting fires...another story) so I'm not sure what one is to do. A bow looks silly. Input appreciated.

3. Footwear - dorsay flat or oxfords? I must admit I had a strong preference for ____ before I saw the pics. Then I changed my mind. If you can guess which style I now prefer there's a slice of spinach ricotta cheese quiche for you.

Note gratuitous clutch pose...I know it's all about the pant, but couldn't resist a clutch shot. Sorry for rubbing salt in a wound Angie

I love them! Nice camel color for spring summer. They work both with d'Orsay and oxfords IMO (my fave is oxfords)
Can you remove the belt completely and use the regular belt instead if needed? This is what I would do.

I think it looks great! Does the color work well with your wardrobe/palette? I think it works with your tan arms and should work with most neutrals.

re: the belt, I think a casual knot rather than a bow works best. Can you tuck it in? Or try it removed to see if you prefer that?

re: the footwear I slightly prefer the nude d'orsays with the airer/lighter tops (tend to be thinner and more off-white). I slightly prefer the oxfords with the heavier weight material tops (sweater and jacket) as they tend to look a brighter white, but I think they can be interchanged.

Hmm... I don't know which you now prefer, but that quiche looks good....

I did try a regular belt Sveta, but wasn't pleased with the stiffness of the belt next to the drapey pant. But I'll try a few more to see how it works.

Good question regarding working it in the wardrobe Rabbit. Pretty well anything could go with it - I did try citron, black, navy - but I prefer the whites and creams...and I've got plenty of those. I think I could get away with no belt when the loops are covered (see pic below), otherwise, as you suggest maybe casual knot is best.

Lots of quiche for all participants reveal to come later ....

1. Pants look great! I vote keep.
2.Maybe a simple knot and let the ends hang? Or tuck?
3.I think both shoes work. My initial preference was for the d'orsays, but I like the oxfords with the more "mannish" tops, as rabbit has said.

Love the pants, I reallylike how thy work as a casual pant,but that they can also be dressed up. I like the belt the way you have it in the 1st picture. I have a slight preference for the d'orsays,but I think the oxfords work well.

My favourite trench coat knot might work. Tie a bow with only one bunny ear that sticks up, and the tails of the tab hang down...though I would second Sveta's suggestion to try a belt. Do you have a white belt?

Both shoes work, the oxfords with the more opaque tops. Those pants cry out for sandals, though (and I see the model sports them.)

I'd tie a rather loose, fluffed up square knot for the belt.

2. Simple loose knot and let the ends hang (much as you've done in all your pics except #2).

3. Both shoes look fab. So, wild guess in hopes of qualifying for quiche: Oxfords?

Great belting solutions, thank you all! Carla - I've just tried the bunny thing and I like it. I think I know what you mean Joy - I just need to fluff up the existing knot thing I've been doing and that Sharon, kkards and Ruth prefer. Done!

High five tencel track pant twin Ruth! Im looking forward to your posts on styling these pants. I'm sure we've just scratched the surface here.

And it seems we are pretty much in agreement regarding footwear - I initially preferred the dorsay flats mostly because of the low contrast. However, when I saw the pics of the oxfords I changed my mind. I like the bookending of the white/cream topper and white footwear. I wasn't too taken with my existing sandals...maybe I need a new pair? Oh what a slippery slope - one purchase so often begets several more....

There's enough quiche for all...seconds anyone?

What was the question? I was distracted by the quiche. All kidding aside, the pants are nice. those hang belts do drive me crazy. I usually just tuck them in or cut them off. Both shoes work.

Ooh these are gorgeous! I'm going to guess you originally preferred the oxfords and now prefer the d'orsays. (I think I prefer the d'orsays in the photo). Now to scroll up and see if you've revealed.

And it's absolutely terrific to "see" you three times in a week! Please keep the track pants, you make me want to copy everything you wear, and now I need to go shopping.

You sport sporty de luxe like nobody else! Pls keep the track pants! Love them with d'orsays and the oxfords best. For self fabric tie I usually do a half bow, and let the ties longer, somehow or almost like you did in nr 4, but changing to a pleated (not quite the structured) one will be my best bet! Super clutch pose, YLF:-))

These are definite keepers. And I prefer the oxfords.
If you wear an alternate belt, I think it needs to be pretty thin & delicate, but I think the tie looks great. I also think a colorful scarf would work as a great belt. With a scarf as a belt, you don't necessarily have to tie it in a knot. You could just continue to thread it through the belt loops & tuck the ends in so that they don't show.
