K/R Some shopping finds, plus my puff sleeve sweater and longer hair

I found a fuschia blazer, which my friend said was missing from my wardrobe, and some wide leg crops to go with it, but is it too trendy? The jacket feels like a great fit. Both are from Sea

I also found a turquoise cardigan, another item on my buy list. Is this the one? Halogen

The silver stripe Jean's are Paige peg cigarette legs. I wanted something with a stripe and have added some metallic tops, so I thought they might be okay. Are they too dark?

The leopard jacket is obviously an Angie pick, I thought I would try it for over my puff sleeve sweaters. Is it too busy for me? The Cape is one I have had for a while. I'm wearing both over the ribbed Rebecca Taylor sweater. The leopard jacket is a small, the medium was much too large and my friend vetoed it right away.

The lace puff sleeve is from Halogen. I love it and will keep. I'm wearing it with J Brand Maria's and a grey tank top.

The ribbed puff sleeve is one I am not certain about. It seems to fit well. Is it too bulky looking? Rebecca Taylor

The metallic top is from Karen Kane, I'm on the fence.

The waffle knit Henley is from Splendid, does the fit look okay or too tight?

I have been growing out my hair for the past 12 weeks. Is it too much? I'm not used to it this long.

Love the lace puff sleeve.
The suit is a gorgeous color and fits well. What do you think about style? Even though it’s bright, is it too “ corporate” for your style? I think a different jacket style might be more versatile.
The cardigan is a great style. I’d this your color or should it be just a bit “ softer”? It looks very blue on my screen so can’t tell.
Your hair color is lovely. I confess I like it shorter, I think.
I don’t think the pants are too dark, and I like the stripes.

...except the fuzzy leopard. That feels too... relaxed to me or something. And a little like it washes you out...

Love the raspberry jacket and blue cardigan- 7 is my favorite of all the looks. The puff sleeve does accentuate your shoulder line, but has an excellent fit. I like the leopard coat, and the blue in the print is wonderful with your coloring, but the cape is amazing. If those two would split wears, I wouldn’t bother to keep the coat. If you’re already on the fence about the silver tunic, I’d pass on that, too.

My favourites are the turquoise cardigan and the lace puff sleeve. You didn’t mention your silver booties—those are fab!

I’m not sure about the fuchsia blazer, it is sort of half single breasted, half double breasted.

I like the fuchsia pants but are they too formal?

I think the v-neck grey sweater is a bit drab and the halogen one is miles better both in colour and softness.

I like the silver top with the silver booties!

The pants with the stripe down the side are fun.

Just my opinion here, and I stand to be corrected by those more in the know.

The fuschia suit - LOVE it +++, the fit looks wonderful. Suggest you break it up and wear as separates. The jacket would work with so many bottoms and especially jeans. The bottoms with the grey top and booties (#6) certainly works, and I bet you have other tops and toppers that would work as well. On trend, for sure, but not over the top/maximaL - but could be, if you want to go that route with lots of pattern, texture, and bling. Despite the grand gesture of colour, the pieces are rather sleek.

You look great in all things grey and silver. I have a silver foil t-shirt that is more body con than your tunic and it is my go-to for date night. A wardrobe essential for me. I suggest keep or look for something similar that you like better.

Sorry, but I do not care for the turquoise cardigan. It fits you nicely, but the colour is too 'high'. Does that make sense?

Not a fan of the leapord (too bulky for your delicate frame) but the cape with the fur trim is FABULOUS!

Also, I really like the longer, fuller hair. I know after having very short hair that even an inch of extra length can seem like a lot. (I'm growing mine.) What style ideas are you contemplating if going longer?

Kathie, I am looking for something warmer than the cape so I don’t think there would be an issue with splitting wears. I’m just not sure if this jacket will be warm enough once the weather gets colder. I probably shouldn’t have photographed it with the pink trousers, because I think it looks best with jeans. I am still watching for a nice down puffers cape. Everything I have seen is too expensive. I have used a lot of my budget already, and don’t have a lot left to spend on a jacket.

Puff sleeves accentuate my shoulders. I thought about whether it was a feature of mine I should try to camouflage with conventional flattery techniques, or emphasize for fun. This seemed like a fresh way to emphasize them. I don’t love shoulder pads because they can look like I’m wearing football gear. Maybe the Rebecca Taylor is too much of an exaggeration?

Unfrumped, the blue cardigan is an exact match with my color palette. I didn’t think of the pink suit as looking corporate. I guess it could because it is double breasted? Maybe it’s because I wore both pieces together for these pics? I am unlikely to wear them together, I would most frequently treat them as separates. I worried the suit was trendy as opposed to corporate because it has slightly belled sleeves and the trousers are wide leg crops with very deep cuffs. The blazer has a loose almost cropped boxy, a line fit instead of being fitted like a traditional double breasted jacket. I don’t have anything else like it in my wardrobe. I initially worried about the bell sleeves, but they are not too wide to interfere with handwashing. I hate when sleeves drag in the sink, or hang so low that I cannot wash my hands efficiently. It would be a nuisance to take the jacket off and then put it back on each time since I wash my hands frequently in a school where children frequently show up with viral symptoms.

Rachy, good eye about the leopard jacket. It has what I think is a tan/taupe tone in addition to the greys and blues, and I have been worried about it not being quite the right color, The blues and greys are right on, but maybe the other tones make it less flattering. I have wondered if I should try to find a solid light pink faux fur instead, if I even were to get one. I’m still on the fence.

Runcarla, my hair stylist has some ideas of what she would like to do. She said something about letting the front get longer and keeping the back short. She tried to find a picture of what she is thinking, but didn’t have any. I imagine that she is thinking of a modern version of what I did with my hair in my 20’s and 30’s. It looked a bit like your hairstyle..... I took a picture of an old picture of me so you could see. I cringe when I look at this because I am so hunched, I am wearing my friend’s shirt and the picture needs to come out of the frame to be dusted, but it does show the cut. The second picture is my paternal grandmother. I have been told multiple times that I look like her. I love how her hair looks so wavy, and have wondered if I could somehow do something like this with my hair, in a more modern cut. Right now I’m drying it straight because it is at an awkward length. It needs to grow a bit more before I can let it go natural again.

LOVE the suit, puff sleeve pullover, and the lace pullover. KILLER. Staysfit.

I like the stripe pants, but they look a little tight on the knee and calf - no?

The animal print coat colours are gorgeous, but the fit is too big. Size down?

Return the KK top and Halogen cardi. Although the colours are smashing - the items are just okay and not the same level of fabness like the rest.

I really like that fuschia suit. It’s really something! I also like the turquoise cardi- although as Angie mentioned it’s not got the wow factor in terms of design but the color is so beautiful it might be a good item nonetheless....
I agree the leopard coat looks a teensy bit big, but a fab coat.

Thanks Angie, good point about the jeans. They do look tight around my knees and maybe my calves in the picture. I had too many JFE jeans in my closet before......I want to be very picky. I can keep looking for something similar, maybe with a wider leg.

I wonder if my shoulders would fit the leopard jacket in an XS? I keep thinking I need something warmer, so maybe this is the wrong jacket...

Smittie, the booties are from Rag & Bone. They were on sale when I purchased them, but I noticed they restocked and the sale ended. Maybe I have last years model. I tried around four styles of silver booties. The others had blockier heels and almond or more rounded toes. I liked the look of this pair the best.

Wow, great haul! My fave looks here are the 9+10 the most dressy of an easy casual (if there is such a thing) I've seen in while! Then, I love the leo coat, will go perfect to any blue jeans, too! I like your hair and earings!
The fuchsia suit is such a cheery and powerful color but I find the booties you've taken the picties in are a bit too muddy for them- I think the silver (or some white) shoes will be the winners here.

I like the suit is is fun and maximal, so you have to feel comfortable wearing a statement item like this. I love the fit of the pants of the suit on you.
The lace sweater and cape are both wow items, really beautiful on you. I prefer shorter tops on you, as the long silver top hides your figure and looks more casual that the other tops.

I really like you hair longer too. It makes the colour stand out more and your silver boots are perfect.

I would say all the items that don't feel like 10/10's return as you probably already have other items that will do the job and wait for the right thing to come along...now I should listen to my own advice on that one.

I love the lace sweater - that is my absolute favourite. I also love your own cape.

I am not sure about the fuschia suit - I am not sure about the buttons or the cuff on the pants.

The fur is not quite right - there will be another coat out there that works better on you.

I actually really like the turquoise cardigan - I could see this being a workhorse as the colour and length are really good.

Overall - and this is just my opinion - I think you suit cleaner lines and longer lines - some detail - but not too much. You have such an elegant look about you that you can carry off drama but not in too maximal a way.

I like your hair and I would persevere - you have probably done the hardest part!!

That silver top with those pants and boots is amazing on you. I love it best out of all these looks.
