K/R Shoes: is this a fit issue, or just the shoes?

Meredith pointed me to a great deal on these Cole Haan nude flats ($49). I like the color and style, but I don't like the way they gap on the inner foot. Both shoes do it I the same place. Is this a symptom of the shoe itself, or is it saying that I need a wide? Or is it just normal and I'm being picky? (These are 7.5B/medium. I've never worn Cole Haan before and am hoping to order a much more expensive pair of CH wedges.

Also, thoughts on this shade of nude for me?

The colour and shape are gorgeous on you. The gap on inner foot would not bother me. The big question would be "Are they comfortable?"

Interested in replies - I often get that effect in flats which is one of the reasons I don't wear flats. It doesn't look like they are tight across the forefoot.

They are very comfortable, as judged in 10 minutes of walking through the house in them.

Love the colour and shape. I know that such a gap would really annoy me. If the shoes were very comfortable, I'd hold on to them, but still look out for a pair that has a perfect fit. But I might be too picky.

Love the shoes! Do you have a link or a find for them? No idea what's causing the gap, but if they are otherwise wonderful, it wouldn't bother me.

I get that gap a lot when I try on flats and I always thought its a feature of how the low thin leather side behaves-/ and that it is somewhat foot+ shoe dependent but not fixed by sizing.
Some flats address that by having either frank elastisized top rim or some version thereof-I don't like the major elastic look but my AGL's have a bound top rim, and that may be why they work, and even that seemed a shame to me.
When you walk in them, or sit, does the gap open up more ?
Also, leaving price aside, have you tried on other flats and found some you like better? I have found it helpful to know whether certain shoes " get me" or what is really a HEWI vs expensive, so I have a benchmark. Then I can go, need these but on sale, or, keep looking.
Anyway, gaps, especially the pucker- type gaps, bother me because they
look less " good quality" and because I focus on it! Usually flats are highly visible. Sometime i have had a dark flat which with tights makes any snugness issues less visible. But there would be a range for sure and balancing need vs. availability.

I have narrow feet and my regular width flats do that a lot (my narrow width flats usually don't), so I think it's because the shoe is a little wide. It doesn't bother me as long as the shoes stay on my feet when I walk.

The shoes look good but the gap would bother me. I don't like to see gaps on my shoes.

I think these look fantastic on you! I always thought gapping was because the shoe was a little too wide.

If you really love these shoes, and they're comfortable, but the gap drives you nuts, I would try toupee tape. You can get it at beauty supply stores. That stuff holds everything to everything, and it's pretty easy to get off. (And best of all, it doesn't take off the top five layers of skin when you remove it)

Well the colour looks great, they are super cute shoes! Even though I am not familiar with CH, I would say that the gap on the Inside of the foot is a design flaw. I mean, you can see in your pics that it is already bent from just walking in the house... a really nice pair of shoes woudln't do that--if you got a wider size, I think it would only be worse. For these types of those, I swear by Clarks, but they are perhaps a bit too casual for what you are looking for...

I wouldn't be satisfied with that fit.

In my case, it would mean the shoe would not stay on when I walk (I have narrow heels) -- but flats tend to do that for me anyway.

If it buckles that much it's either too wide in that area of your foot, or simply not the right shape of last. Which might (sadly) mean that other Cole Haan shoes do something similar on you. Still, it's worth experimenting with more styles just in case. If it's doing this partly because you have a high arch/ instep (if you do) then a wedge heel shoe might work better than the flat.

The bulge on the side looks like a production fault. I vote find another pair.

Did you find these fit true to size? Any pair of CH I have bought in the past I've had to size up 1/2-1 full size. Could be due to my foot width (between medium and wide). Just curious. Hope you find what you are after.

Good colour. I like how they cover the toes. Do think that part that sticks out looks like a production issue and they should go back.
