One more order from the day I realized I should stop ordering.

This is a totally sentimental purchase. DH spotted it in a shop window while we were on our honeymoon in Italy. We didn't buy it then because it was over 200 Euro. The inscription reads "Pilot Cat," and his suitcase has an Italian passport in it, and the brand name (Tua) seems to translate to "yours" (as near as I can tell).

So when I stumbled across it at Yoox for $60 during our anniversary month, DH encouraged me to try it. What are your thoughts? Half of me thinks it's a fun, kitchy sentimental item, and half of me says, "where is my Brahmin??" o_0

I am itching to ask DH's opinion, but he is at work.

Oh, it is so adorable, but I love your black and white beauty so much more. Do you think you will use it? I hate that itchy feeling that I should be using another bag (or a particular bag more).

It's cute, but I think your Brahmin suits you more. Would this feel cartoonish after a while? It's a lovely sentiment piece, but I don't know if it would translate to real world use.

I like it a lot! And, I love the meaning behind it for you. I can see you carrying this on weekends - or casual events - places where your Brahmin just wouldn't fit in as well! They are two completely different bags for completely different purposes. I'd keep and enjoy.

Well, DH's exact words were, "It would work better if you were someone else." LOL

But we're thinking of keeping it to display with our cat art collection (yes, I am the luckiest crazy cat lady on the planet). Then I could wear it every now and then and still get to look at it all the time.

Still not 100% sure, but thank you for your assurances that it wouldn't be totally weird to wear this out and about on a casual occasion with the hubby.

I love it! Not everything has to be so serious, you know. You've got a great cat collection.

I wonder if I should pull out some of my Paul Frank and Hello Kitty purses. I have been feeling like I should eBay them, but never get around to doing it. There are still some that I like, but wondering if I can get away with carrying them or whether they're too juvenile.

It is definitely quirky and I see no reason not keep and display, and even use if the mood strikes.

Agree with Natalie that the odd nothing-but-fun piece does not ruin a curated closet. Also, if you find you never use it, it would be a great storage 'box' for travel documents or mementos. Hard container to forget!

Honestly I think it is so much fun and you can not only display it but use it for fun outings. Everytime you use it you will be reminded of the wonderful trip honeymoon trip to Italy. I see lots of joy in this bag!

I say keep. It may not be something you'll carry regularly, but you will smile every time you look at it. And it's a sure conversation starter.

I love the sentimental value of this bag Rae and definitely vote to keep. Display it on a lovely shelf or hook so you can see if often and be reminded of such lovely memories and then use it when out for a fun and casual time with DH.

I'd keep it for all of the reasons mentioned - and I think it would be fun to use when shopping for antiques, going to the farmer's market and fun trips like that. It's quirky and cute - I have a couple of bags I've purchased because they were just attractive to me but not necessarily to use.

I don't even have cats but for some reason DH and DS have always given me cat-themed gifts. I often get funny comments about the wallet. So I guess I am leaning towards keeping, especially if you can use it for decorative purposes.

I think keeping it just to display it is *not* a bad option. If you also used it for storage at the same time, then it would be functional as well. Which, of course, would be helpful in justifying it.

Do you want to keep it? Are you searching for a reason because it is sentimental or because you love it? If the first, I say pass. You have memories and photos. :). If you truly love it, keep it.
