Honestly, I'm leaning toward returning these, as comfy as they are. :T

Although the color is "blue" all I see is purple when I look at them. Not the same, and my heart doesn't thrill to purple. I also suspect that blue *suede* is too pristine/luxe a look for me, since I usually like a more rugged boot.

These are the three main toppers I wanted to bookend - sorry these are not styled. There is music video stuff happening in the apartment tonight, so I can't walk back and forth changing clothes ATM.

Oh really Rae, 'cause I really like them? I do see that they could look more purple to you IRL but in the pics they work great with the three toppers.

Well, they don't look purple on my monitor. They look like a glorious blue and the bookend these pieces brilliantly (at least from where I sit). Knowing how comfortable they are for you, I'd say, keep! But if the colour IRL feels off to you then you know best.

You could always add the rugged element in other ways if you kept. For example with a bag.

Hmm, to me they look like a muted version of my electric blue booties or the ultramarine Free People shirt (which by the way, I am returning - the sheer style doesn't work as well with a dark color for me). I like them, but you have to love them to keep them!

I think I know what you mean about that blue - there's something about it that could strike a person as being just not quite right. I can't put my finger on it, but it's a bit garish. Of course some people could really love it, but if you don't, I think you should return.

I think they look really good on you, BUT, if this certain shade of blue is just not doing it for you (and I can see that a bit in photo #2 with that wonderful jacket, as there's a slight disconnect there), then you may want to keep looking. The color does work in #1 and #3 and I still think they look fantastic on you as you've styled them.

I think they're not quite perfect, especially in #2. So close! These booties make a strong statement, and you don't want to walk down the street loudly proclaiming something that's a bit "off."

Thanks for the responses. I think it comes down to not feeling it in this case. I feel like I'm wearing blue socks, or jester shoes or something, perhaps because the texture and color make it hard to tell what material it is from far away? Maybe I should exchange for another neutral.

I rather like them, but you have to feel it. My favorite combo is #3, but all work.

I really like these, but not so much on a bare leg. I prefer a neutral bootie with a bare leg, but I like the look of a bootie like this with black tights for fall and winter. I also happen to love this blue color with citron. Sending them back is probably best if they don't give your heart palpitations.

Ahhh... Something is off with these. Could it be the color? I think the color bothers me because I like more "oxidized" tones on you. However, I can see this color playing really nicely with plenty of stuff in your wardrobe.
Ok, I made up my mind... I vote return just because these just don't feel like you to me.

My quibble with these boots is that they didn't extend the bright blue color into the inner edge, so when you look inside the boot (as you will do, since they are made to be quite gappy) you see that beige canvas lining or whatever it is, rather than the blue. That part bothers me :). I can also see how these aren't really your bag.

Close! They would be cool in smooth leather with smudged toes or something. Like Zap said, I like the more "oxidized" look on you, ruffed or scuffed a bit, from being on the playground with the boys, ya know? Plus if the color doesn't make your heart sing, I don't think you should force it.
