Goomorning. I need your opinion on this dress. Pics show it with and without belt. Sorry for the tag, but still unsure whether I want to keep it or not. The color is more vivid than in some pics, and I love it. My only doubt is that it's pure cotton, and it seems a bit rigid when belted. What do you think?

You love it and you look gorgeous. I am speaking here from looking back at a red dress I bought in 1993, when I was 32. I only fitted it until my next pregnancy about 2 years later. But I still remember fondly how I looked in it. So I vote yay!
I am assuming the child in your profile pic might be quite a bit older now?

Another yay from me. It looks nice with and without belts. The cotton may soften as you wash it, but I think the crispness gives it extra body. Are you worried about wrinkles?

I quite like it. I think you probably need to fiddle with the belt a bit, to get the proper fall.

@approprio, yes I am a bit worried about wrinkes probably, hope it will get sifter with washing. I like that it's 100% cotton.

It looks like a nice versatile dress, especially if you need something for warm summer. I like it best unbelted, perhaps with a pendant for a little accessorization. I don’t love that particular belt with it — I think I’d rather see a sleeker profile belt, like an obi or a wide leather belt. The woven belt almost seems a little bulky to my eye.

I like it alot, with and without belt. Just be careful of the back hem riding up when belted. I prefer my cotton pieces to have some heft.

Great colour and modern trapeze style. Much prefer unbelted. It’s woven right? Will it need to be ironed after washing? A dress like this can feel especially nice on hot days, since it hangs away from the body.

This looks like a great simple summer dress for you. I agree with comments on belting. That also will reduce wrinkling. Though, I still think you could belt sometimes, but I would use a softer belt to minimize the bulkiness Janet noted.

I love it on you unbelted. The colour is gorgeous and enlivening and you look beautiful! Unbelted, it will be cool and breezy. You could also try it with a thinner belt, perhaps.

Lovely colour,l think it suits being unbelted best.l agree that the cotton doesn’t give that relaxed slouch that’s nice when you belt something in but l suspect that’s because it holds the lovely trapeze shape of the dress better.A great shape for hot weather.

It’s a gorgeous color! If you love it you should keep it for sure, but maybe try to pinpoint exactly what you’re unsure about — is it the stiffness of the fabric, or the wrinkles, or possibility of shrinking? There are some things to me that are deal breakers, and I’ve made lots of mistakes by overlooking them because I loved the shape or color or something else.

I like it best unbelted but perhaps you could try it with a slimmer belt instead? A patent or metallic finish might look good.

Otherwise, how would you feel about adding a sash (fabric belt) instead? You could tie the bow in the front or back, depending on where you want the fabric to taper.
