K/R: pinky peachy cardigan

Just received this cardigan from Loft - online it was called "faint pink" but IRL it's more of a light peach/blush hybrid. I usually avoid peach and orange because I don't think it suits me. I know it's hard to tell with cell pics, but do you think this color works for me at all? (I just threw it on with reasonably-colored other items, not really styled.)

I like it with the white pants but I'm not sure about the color with your skin tone. It makes your skin look very pink--at least in the photo.

I find this color problematic for the same reasons. I saw a beautiful rose gold sweater on the sale rack at J Crew in Hanover NH a couple of weeks ago and I loved it until I held it up against me and it completely blended in with my (pink) skin tone. In your circumstance I think the gray top helps.

Hmm. In the photo it almost looks like a "nude for you". Do you have a blush tank/cami to try it with (or white if you don't) and an olive green bottom?

I think I prefer more depth of color for you. I bet a deeper peach would be beautiful on you. The pastel version doesn't do much for anyone.

My skin tone definitely is pink, but I don't need to exaggerate that any more than it naturally is! I was hoping for more of a ballet pink / blush tone with a cooler tinge to it. Sounds like from the comments so far that it's not a winner...

Okay, I don't know whether this is a winner or not (super hard to tell with the phone pics and light) but I do know that I always think you have a lovely complexion, extremely fresh looking. So anything that messes that up is not a good thing.

I personally have a very cool toned pink skin and blush is super tricky for me. Sometimes it works and it's magic. Other times, uh, not so much.

I know what kind of pink you mean although you cannot tell from the picture. I would say of you are having a negative emotional reaction to it don't keep it. That same reaction will prevent you from reaching for it and wearing it.

I think a color like that I would prefer with more contrast...like wearing it with black or navy or even olive as Donna suggested might help the pink glow a little more. As is it looks a little anemic and doesn't do a lot for you. Not that it looks bad, it just fails to look great.

I actually think your own comment is the most insightful and that a cooler shade would be better.
This is a good opportunity to test drive the idea though, and it's making me think that a sheer-ish button down cardigan worn over other things might be hard to style. Maybe a more decisive, cooler shade of pale pink crew or v neck that you would wear under something else? Or a blouse?

I'd go for something you love instead. I've been ruthless about returning items this past year and I'm so glad I don't have too many new orphans in the closet. Sometimes if I get something on super sale it is hard to justify the return so I just give it away.

I think the intensity of the color is too light for you and your coloring. In other words, you can do better.

If you are trying to like it or make it work, it should go back. It is hard to tell from the photo and the grey next to your skin, but it seems too pale for you.

Thanks, ladies. I returned it. I donated my blush cardigan not too long ago because it was too worn, but I haven't been able to replace it yet. Maybe when the fall stuff starts coming out...

I agree, the grey top helps it not blend right into your own skin tone. When I see really light neutrals like this I ask myself if it wouldn't be better on dark skin. When you have fair skin I find it easier and more flattering to go for the mid-tones.
