K/R: Pink Boucle Slouch Coat

I noticed this Topshop coat awhile ago and really liked its slouchiness, and also its pinkness. It sold out but I kept checking back, and it came back in stock long enough for me to order it. I showed my husband and he made a face. I added my pink beret and faux Missoni scarf, and he seemed to like it. It weighs a ton, and is unlined, but the backing is like a lining. It is quite large. I can fit a North Face fleece jacket underneath comfortably.

What do you think? Do you think it's too big? It's supposed to be slouchy. But is it too slouchy?

Sorry, JAIleen, waaaay too big and slouchy I think. I empathize because I'm drawn to a big, slouchy look also and it's a tough look for me to pull off.

You might try it unbuttoned, like in the stock photo, if you’d wear it that way. From the side view, it doesn’t appear to hang quite right on you.

It looks way to big on you to me too. Sorry. I wish that it had some structure somewhere, like the shoulders. Personally, a heavy coat can be a real drag ( pun intended ), especially if you want to wear it shopping and end up having to carry it. I do love the color on you and the scarf with it. Can you try sizing down?

I like the coat and it has a lot of potential but I would try sizing down. The shoulder and upper torso seem too big on you at the moment, and unfortunately, that’s the part that can’t easiy be tailored.

Thank you all, for your honest opinions. I thought it might be too big. Not because I can comfortably fit a fleece jacket underneath, but because of the look on my husband's face.

I'll keep stalking it. It's sold out, but maybe it'll come back in stock, in a smaller size.

I really hope that you can find a smaller size and that it fits well. A great pink coat would be happy to have on those grey days. The right one will show up.

The colour is great, and WOWSA do I ever love your scarf! (Sugar eye for Missoni.) Glad you will get to try a smaller size, 'cause the one in the pic is too big.

Carla, thank you. If you're a knitter, I can give you the pattern for the scarf. It's really easy, but took along time because I used fingering weight yarn.

Suz, thank you. I was surprised to see the smaller size available. I haven't been wearing this scarf lately. I've been trying to wear festive holiday colors while I have the chance (I do dress up a little when I go out).
