K/R: OTBT 'Springfield' Flat ETA: styling photos

I found these at the Rack for $36 and they were so comfortable that they came home with me..even more comfortable than my trusty Dr. Scholl's pewter flats. But I want to know your thoughts before keeping them.
I can see using these with pants or skirts when lots of walking is involved, like trips. They have about a 1.5 inch wedge, stay on the foot and are well padded.
But, is the round toe going to be too dated? These toes turn up a bit so not quite like other round toe flats. Is that good or bad?
I don't know this brand. I'd also sworn off black shoes. However, when packing for a trip, black is the major neutral.
What do you say? Keep or did I have sale goggles on and should return these?
ETA: I didn't even try these with black pants (in storage for summer). All I see are huge, very black feet. Even though they feel like walking on clouds, I don't think these are for me. Besides, I saw a SA wearing them yesterday with a skirt and did not care for the look. Thank you all for helping me figure this out.

I like them -- they are more earthy/quirky than I expect you to wear. They look like "sensible shoes".

I don't think they are fashion forward or dated, they are just kind of in that middle area.

I like them, but I agree with Ceit, they are more quirky than I associate with you. They're like something I would wear.

I could see these as the perfect travel shoe, Joy. They remind me of my trusty standbys that I would love to update, I would definitely keep these! They are more casual than your Dr Scholls, so that helps, too, don't you think.

Had the same thoughts. Not dated, but quirky - and I can't say that I've ever seen you in quirky.

Hmmm, there're not bad, but I'll just hold your feet to the fire a little since you've sworn off black shoes. Even if your travel clothing is primarily black, it would be nice to bookend your hair with a lighter shoe, which I think would end up looking more modern, even if it's a comfort shoe. However, there is nothing wrong with keeping the leg line long with a column of black. Have you tried these on with your travel capsule to see if they fly? That might make the decision for you.

Comfort aside, I'm not sold on these. You can pull off anything as we know, but I can't place them style-wise. Somewhere between little girl/quirky tourist... sorry. No hint of lady, which is primarily how I see you.

This shoe is available on Amazon in 20 different colors for as low as $23.34. I didn't know your foot size so couldn't assess the selection and price relevant to you. But the company makes options other than black!

Thank you each for your comments. These shoes are a bit out of my comfort area style-wise. I suppose I thought maybe they would look Euro, but living in Kansas doesn't help me to even really know what Euro is
Irene, Ceit, Diana, rachylou, and Ornella, "quirky" is a good description and I'm not sure how I feel about that on me. Claire, thank you for holding my feet to the fire and being a voice of reason. I will need to try these with travel capsule outfits if I consider keeping them. What I have now for real walking is even more clunky and gearish.
Carole, I think they could be a perfect travel shoe. I can picture them in my mind as wearable with both pants and skirts for sightseeing, high enough to withstand wet cobblestones and puddles plus having a grippy sole, and straps that will keep them on while running through airports or for a train.
They are easy off and on for Japan and airplane security...
Thistle, Iove the comfort but am not sure if I'm ready for something that looks like sensible shoes. Good question.
Ornella, you are another voice of reason. They don't really go with my style.
Donna, thank you for the great link! Now I think the metallic or stone would be best if I get these shoes, although they are each much more pricey. At least there are options.
If anyone else is thinking of sending for these, size up. I usually wear an 8 or 7.5 and the 8.5 fits perfectly in these.

Joy, I find the attractive in that alternatie quirky way. And I do think as an elegant eclectic, you could make these work quite easily for you.

Well it sounds like these are better than what you have been wearing for travel even if you keep them in black. I know comfort is all important when you're doing a lot of walking and these are definitely a step up from gear!

It does sound as if you could make them work, Joy. But I do think Claire is right and you need to try them. I have a style -related concern and that is that the strap across the front, while practical, might not look great with quite a lot of pants styles. And then a more practical matter -- while a slingback can be great for those of us with narrow heels (I know it's a heck of a lot easier for me to fit than a closed shoe) it also does not offer a lot of protection from elements so that means it's primarily a summer travel shoe. Or only a summer travel shoe. If that is okay with you, then no problem!

Too funny, Joy, we are shoe twins again! But mine are a very distressed black leather. To me they are more quirky than sensible and they ARE comfy. But I can understand the hesitation. I've had them for a while and haven't worn them much.

Claire, I've never been able to find the perfect travel shoe. The more I think about it, it probably isn't black. I have some Clark's Privo flats and some athletic flats, both that I bought with travel in mind. Now that I think of it, I've never taken either on a trip but use them for exercise. The athletic flats are about worn out. The Privos have turned out to not be as comfortable as hoped with the back coming too high on the heel.
Suz, you make many excellent points. I will try them with summer travel stuff. For cooler weather I'd bring boots instead, but I'm leaning toward returning them.
Susie, that is funny! The fact that you haven't worn yours much makes me think that I won't either. I would probably reach for something else most of the time.
