K/R: On the Fence

I do love plaid, and I was looking for some long tops to wear with these capris and with my Gap Resolution Slim Straights. These are from Old Navy, they are cotton/linen. I could wear with/without the belts. I'm on the fence about keeping. What say you?

Well they certainly are very flattering. What would make me pause is how sheer the light blue is, and notoriously poor quality of ON. If these are not deal breakers I would say keep.

Thanks Daria. The color is actually mint green, not light blue. The mint green top is not all that sheer - I don't have a cami on in the photos but I do always wear one (I had already changed from work). ON's quality could always be better. I do have a few tops I bought from them last year that have held up quite well, though.

I like them, but then I'm on an ON bender lately. I bought a couple of the flannel shirts and some cotton sweaters last Fall. I wore them to death and will wear them this coming Fall as well. How much more can you ask of a $15 top.

For S/S, I just did a new lounge/dog walking capsule from ON. I bought 2 of these linen and cotton shirts in very oversized fits so they will be cool in 95 degrees. I love what you've done with them here. Mine are way too big to belt, but I love it. May have to go back for one in my regular size;-) FWIW, I have washed both of them, and they did great. Machine wash, half dry in dryer, half hang to dry. They're not crisp without ironing, but for my purposes, crisp is the last thing I want.

Karie - no matter what the color is, it goes really well with cobalt pants.

First, I love your cobalt capris! Both tops look good on you; I might have a slight preference for the mint color one, which, to my eye, you can wear either belted or not. I wonder how the plaid shirt looks unbelted or with a different color belt than the one in your picture-- perhaps cobalt or a color to bookend your shoes.

I love the mint top on you and want you to also try it with a low slung belt for variety, like Angie's recent post.

Thanks everyone! Olivegreen, I am a sucker for plaid - must be that half preppy gene in me.

Thanks, Tracey. I wasn't sure about belting them. After looking at the pic, I agree a different belt would be better.

Thank you, Daria. The color is kind of a bluish minty green, and I wasn't sure if it went well with the cobalt pants. Then when I put it on I thought, "Wait! Does it look like a hospital gown?"

Carter, that's great to hear that they wash well. I iron everything anyway, so I don't mind that I'll have to iron these. I also thought they'd be great for walking the dog.
