This is a matching skirt and top. I originally was eyeing the skirt, and decided to try the tank too. It’s expensive, so I have extra incentive to make sure it’s good.

I like these and think they would work as well separately. I love the sheer band on the bottom of the skirt. Would you ever tuck in the top? I'd be curious to see how that worked with the skirt.

I am adding a picture of the top tucked in up top. But I have to say it’s not as comfortable for me that way.

Ok thanks Texstyle. FWIW, it’s actually navy, though it does photograph pretty dark to appear black. IRL it does look navy.

I returned to Nordstrom. Still deciding if I want to reorder through the N & Z website where I can get it a bit cheaper with the promo code.

I love this outfit on you, delurked. I wish I could wear navy. I actually prefer the top tucked. If the skirt is still too loose, you could consider having the waistband taken in a little bit.

I think it is really pretty and could be a useful addition both as a two piece and as seperates. I added a two piece last summer and found it a great addition.

Like the others I prefer this tucked. I could see this top untucked with pants though.

If it is expensive you just have to go with your gut feeling sometimes....

I prefer it tucked too but I understand the preference for untucked, especially in summer.

Another option would be to have the top shortened a little. I’ve done this with a few tops. You could try pinning it and see what you think. It’s a fairly inexpensive alteration.

I have considered shortening tops before, but haven’t done that. Do you think a petite would make the rest of the proportions too short? I’m obviously not a petite, but I’ve wondered before if that would help the length or be a problem through the rest of the top. Skirts need shorter tops than pants do for me.

First of all your hair looks great! I think this is a great set on you. It looks terrific tucked but if you prefer it out a bit shorter might be better with the skirt. The only way to know with petite sizing is to try it - it is completely unpredictable in my limited experience.

Thanks Shevia. I’ve once had a petite skirt that helped me get the correct length, but I’ve never tried it with a top.

These pieces make a great little summer two-piece dress for hot weather.
You will probably find them very useful. They can be dressed up with accessories for a dressy occasion or dressed down and still work for more casual times.

I like it better tucked too. Or hemmed would work I think. Sometimes a petite size might be shorter in the armhole/shoulder but the only way to know would be to try it on.

I really like this - both tucked and untucked. Untucked works so well on very hot days, and tucked is a bit more dressy and structured. I think the top would look good untucked and belted at the waist too - a very 80's look. Personally I have had tops like this shortened, so that they sit just below the waistband when untucked.

I also think your hair looks great.

Thanks for the feedback. Seems to me tucking in with a skirt may help me across my other skirts too.
