Thanks for all the feedback, ladies. Really helpful. I've decided I'm keeping the sweater - I do see it's a bit long but it is flowy like a dress, and the effect of the asymmetry is hard to capture in a photo. In fact, I am wearing it today much as IK suggested, over a short shirt and boots. It is so warm and cozy I am nearly dozing off at work!
The jeans are going back - I want to feel completely fab in them, and plus they have this weird smell. Why does grey denim have that odd chemical smell? My super-expensive skinnies don't but otherwise it seems rampant.
