My Shopbop shipment arrived today and right in time for a new part-time joe job that begins tomorrow morning and requires me to wear black bottoms. As it happens, I had ordered five bottoms--three of them black-- as alternatives to my blue denims

Here's the short list of my attempt to branch out in colour and silhouette.

Pics 1 and 2: 3x1 cropped baby bell bottoms, with distressed thighs. Thicker denim, slight gap in waist.

Pics 3 and 4: Mother rascal ankle bottoms. Fits more like a legging, but quite comfortable and no gap in the waist.

Pics 5-7: AG Layla crop bell bottoms. White denim that doesn't reveal knicker colour--it's possible! I think these look better in person than in the pic. They're also the first white pair that doesn't make me look sausagey.

Comments, yays and nays welcome.

Also, don't mind the 80s style shirt hem. Lounge wear.

The black pairs look great, to me. I think the white ones need to be shortened a bit (or rolled up once), so that they look for intentionally like crops. Right now, they look too long, IMO.

Black pair #1 looks great, black pair #2 fits well but I'm thinking they might be good a little shorter for an ankle or cropped look, and they look a little short for full-length (unless you are planning to roll them or turn them up?). They should be easy to cut shorter though with a raw hem if you want to do that.

The white pair looks too long to be crops, too short for full-length and maybe a little pull-y across the front, but that might adjust. They look good in the back.

The black pants fit really well and I agree with what rabbit said about the white pants. It will be nice to have different styles of black pants to wear for work since black is required.

I like the black pants (first pair) best.
The white one might not be copped at the right place. Maybe they need to be taken in a bit?
Also, I would change footwear for something more delicate with this shorter, ankle-showing style.

Well, something is up with the white jeans, alas. When I move they look fine, but there is a crease on the right that is prominent. Sizing up won't help, because these are the correct fit.

Above-ankle jeans tend to hit me at the ankle or slightly below. It's a good length for me because I always wear flats, but I don't want it to look like I'm missing the make on their intended style. If nobody knows that their supposed to be above ankle, do they still ok or does the length look off regardless?

Both black pants look good, but I do think they could be a bit shorter, particularly the second pair. Not sure about the white pair - they may fit differently after you wear them for a while. They also look a bit long to me.

I think both black pairs look good, especially the Mother pair. The first pair could be a bit shorter--I'd play around and see what you think, keeping Angie's guideline of 2"-4" above ankle bone in mind. I think the Mother rascal looks okay at the current length, for wearing with variety of shoe options--I also like my "ankle" jeans to be very near the ankle.
On the white ones, I'm torn. They don't look immediately as good as the black pairs, but I also understand white jeans not photographing all that well and looking better in real life. If you keep, I do think they should be cropped a bit shorter to look intentional. My test would be: how eager are you to wear them? If I'm itching to put something on right away, wishing the weather was right, the hemming was done, etc., that's a good test for keep/return.

The black pants look very nice on you.
I don't think the white pants do justice to your beautiful figure. The fit in front is whiskering and although the back looks nice there are some extra creases. I think you can find something that suits you better, especially considering the price of the AGs.

I like the fit of the first pair of denim flared crops, although to my eye they are an inch or two too long.

The white pants are ill-fitting, and I'd return those.

The leggings look a little long too, but nice fit otherwise.
