DD recently quit working at Anthro - I'm heartbroken - but before she did, I ordered a few pairs of new jeans with the discount. I'll be asking for your feedback on them, as I need to beef up my jeans options beyond BFs and my one pair of straights.

First up: Citizens of Humanity Emmanuelle slim Bootcuts. I have been wanting some Bootcuts even though they require a heel. I'm not quite into a full-on flare, at least not now. I went with a lighter wash which is a change but I think will be nice for summer. What do you think of these?

Thanks. I'm not used to pants fitting this way and something about them makes me worry they accentuate the squareness in my hip area - pic 2.

I was eying these and it's good to see them on a real person. You look AMAZING! I don't think they flare enough for what I wanted myself, but if I was looking for boot cuts I would be inspired to get these now!

As for the squareness that is how boot cuts fit me too. And j crew pants with side pockets which look funny. I think it's the slim hip/thigh ratio. You look gorgeous, truly.

I was going to suggest a more flared version at first because they drape so well over heels. But I want to respect your "I'm not into full flares" style integrity, which is why I think these are perfect for you.

Una, thanks for explaining the squareness (and commiserating). I think this might be why I love BFs so much -- just don't have to deal with hip/thigh/weird lack-of-curve but still lots-of-flesh issues. Probably just best not to look too closely at one's photos.

Having the same reaction I often have to people's stated problem areas - wait, that's a problem?!? There's so many ways for a body to be beautiful and dressed stylishly. I think these are great on you and I like the wash a lot.
