K/R Naturalizer Blissful Wide Metallic Blue Boots.

I finally received the boots I posted about a few days ago. https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....st-1957655 The metallic dark navy has silver and gunmetal studs. From photos it looks like black has silver and gold, and white is hard to tell but may be gold and silver.

They are not dainty at the ankle. I have what I think is averages ankle - measures about 8.25" around. I love that they are pointy yet wide enough and the navy/silver.

Fit report - roomy in my typical boot with med socks size of 7W. While Naturalizer says their W is a C, this feels D. I have room for my 3/4 orthotic on top of the non-removable insole, as well a a thin cushion layer. This is a 7W - I think a 6.5W might be a tad short in length if I want to wear thicker socks, but maybe I will try the 6.5W to compare. They are quite comfortable.

Do I have the flower pot problem? If keep, how to I style them? Will they look alright with dark wash jeans? The color is darker blue than most of my jeans. Sorry for the urgent - I have a very short exchange window.

ETA today is last day for 30% at Macy's, but I noticed that Nordstroms has price matched if you are considering.

I don't see a flowerpot problem? At this height, more snug, unless they were elasticized, it might be difficult to move your ankles?

Ah, you have answered my question, thank you ! They look really good with bootcuts-the buckles are great, but I'm not sure they would work with cropped or stovepipe pants. I say KEEP, because the unusual color is so good. Imagine those with toffee cords or white jeans. Yum.

I love them with the bootcuts. Admittedly though I’m not sure how else you could style them, but they look so good with the bootcuts!

They look great with what you're wearing, but I agree that a boot this short is tough to style with much other than a full-length pant. Wouldn't work for me - that flower pot effect is one of my pet peeves with boots.

Thanks all! I will probably keep them because the color/toe combination is not one I have seen in a wide width, and I mostly wear full length pants with wider hems - don't own skinnies or slims, and only a few straight legs as it is hard to find a straight wide enough for my lower leg.

kkards, jussie - you raise excellent points about wearing with non-bootcut. lisa p - you expressed exactly what my difficulty is - the shaft -height and reminded me how much I struggle with another pair of dark low booties.

So I just tried them with my straights and a straight - ish pant and I think I can live with them. And they do indeed look terrible cuffed. It also encouraged me to try on with some of my bootcuts and tops to ensure I have enough in my closet to justify keeping.

A late vote for Keep. They do not look too wide at the ankle. You can always fill the gap with fun trendy socks, scrunched if necessary

They do not look huge in the ankle, do look excellent with the pants, and if they are comfortable and fit your orthotic I would tend toward keep.

I think they look great with your bootcuts, and I don't think the ankle is too large. I would also wear them with tights and skirts. Maybe a midi, now that they are on trend, per Angie.

I didn't know what the flowerpot effect was until YLF. I think I must have mostly been drawn to booties that didn't have it! But I do have at least one pair with it, my Steve Maddens. I just let the skinnies tuck in? If they're the right length it's pretty seamless?
Not sure the shaft is much higher?

Also, the colour will look great with dark wash jeans. And I've worn my Steve Maddens with cropped jeans.

I love them, I am a sucker for studs. I don't see a flowerpot problem but it isn't a big deal breaker for me so take it with a grain of salt.

After all this talk of white boots I am so tempted by the white ones...

They work well with the pants, so you dont see the flowerpot effect. But heres the catch, from experience, when you walk they may rub on your ankles if too loose. So, walk round the house quite a bit before deciding.

I like them. They're unusual and they great with your jeans. You could try them with cuffed jeans and socks to fill in the gap.

What a bunch of enablers! And thank you for that! I did order the next size down to see if it is a better fit and slightly closer at the ankle(YLF influence - in years past I just would have stuck in the thick insole without checking for improvement, and I didn't know about flowerpot, but now I can't unsee it, and it explains why I didn't wear a few things after I bought them).

Jenni - I love those boots, and YLF in them. They are higher than mine, and I wish mine were a tad higher.

suntiger - excellent advice and I was concerned about that. So far so good, but if I like the size of the 6.5W, I will have remember to retest thoroughly.

Joy and Sara L. - I will try the sock idea if I ever do wear them with cuffed or cropped straight legs

They fit your ankles well. Not sure how many skirts you wear, but I think they'd be great with a full, mid-calf (or longer) skirt.

Suntiger's point about the flowerpot rubbing on the front of the ankles is well made. I did quite a bit of walking around a shopping area in mine recently, and don't know why I hadn't noticed this before, but it began to be uncomfortable and afterwards I noticed a red mark. I think maybe the socks were a bit shorter than usual so the boot was hitting skin not sock. It soon healed but if walking a very long way would have been an issue.
