I think they fit you beautifully and you should hack the hem rather than roll it (or hem it if you prefer).

Oh no, that rip is inexcusable! I’ve never seen jeans do that unless they were very old.

Janet - no kidding! This is what makes me not want to re-buy. The fabric my be faulty somehow.

Do you think it’s because of the overbleached wash? Bleach can quickly destroy fabric, so if actual bleach was used, it could make any point of stress easy to tear.

cjh - that's very possible. The frabic was thin, more like a jegging. That possibility about the bleach solidifies my resolve not to re-order them, since that could very well happen again. J Crew also struggles with quality control. I have some nice recent items from them, including jeans (which fit me well, so I keep trying), but other things are just awful.
