What do you think? I'm worried that the shirred sleeves aren't "me" and that the shoulders might be too broad. But I "need" a white jacket.

ETA a pic of the next size down which doesn't help the shoulder issue (why I wear petites) over a tee (that I picked up a ATL today)

Well, I am not exactly an expert, but I wonder if it should maybe be a bit more cropped/fitted? How does one size down look?

hmmmm. It's an interesting cut with that sort of hemline. You know, do you love it? I bought a white jacket awhile back because I thought I needed it right then and I NEVER wear it. It sits in my closet mocking me. White is tricky because it is visually expansive so you better really like what it does for you. I also have trouble with the shades of white.

Where are the sleeves shirred? Can you try on the size down to see about the shoulder fit? Hard to tell in this pic...are the shoulders hanging over your own shoulders, if you know what I mean?

ETA: we posted at the same time...just saw your comment about being too busty for the next size down...can you try it on to humor us :)?

I LOVE it..but I bought the navy one. I have never done a sleeve detail ( besides buttons ) but I just love the look of having the sleeves pushed up !

Sarah, try it with a short sleeve or sleeveless top because that's probably what you'll wear with it most often?

I personally like shirred sleeves, especially for a lightweight summer jacket, but I am not sure about the color. I have never had a white jacket and am not sure how much it wear it would get, although I do have an off-white, natural linen colored jacket that is pretty useful.

I like the idea of a very crisp, white jacket "in theory" but in the pictures it seems to wash you out a bit. Perhaps with a brighter top it would be better? I don't know, I keep looking at the pictures and the fit is pretty good to me, it just seems like you had so many great outfits lately with strong colors... Maybe with a really bright summery color, like blue or yellow, this would be just perfect.

i have a white jacket that i love and wear constantly in the summer but this one just doesn't sing to me the same way.

Ok I added a pic with the smaller size over a tee in case that helps. I would never button it and it doesn't pull across the back.

I like the smaller size the best. I think this jacket has a more casual vibe than your Talbots's ones. I think this looks like a great spring/summer piece though : ) Is it comfy?

just make sure you really love it and know how you will wear it. I find stark white kind of washes me out. I like white in a pattern or trim or something where it is mixed with other colors. Angie wears all that crisp white and it looks wonderful on her but I don't really like big expanses of white on me very much.

I really like the fit if the smaller one. I'm not sure about the white issue. You do look great in color (like the other pic you posted in just the striped tee, no jacket).

I don't think your shoulders look broad at all, but I am concerned that the white is too bright for your complexion.

Glad you're taking it home to try it again.

I think those sleeves are too big and dont' properly look scrunched. You might want to experiment with pinning them smaller and truly scrunching up. It might make a difference?

I like the smaller size. I plan to fold the sleeves up once and push them up to my elbows. How do you want to wear it? I got the size 4 which is my normal size. It is called cropped but falls at normal jacket length on me like it does on you.

Rita - that's a great idea, and I'll give it a try. Maybe that will solve Sara's issues with the jacket.

It's interesting that some of you really don't like this bright white on my. I hadn't thought about that before, since my other bright whites are jeans (away from my face) and button downs (always covered up).

Sarah, v late here but I like the smaller size on you. This is much better than the previous white jacket you showed us. I prefer it with the T as opposed to a colllered top. I like this. What did you decide. If you feel you need some color around your face, justbadd a scarf
