I'm in search of a "slip on and go" shoe that (1) might help me towards my goal of feeling more put together as a mom/business woman on the go; and (2) is comfy. For background/context, I have the vionic samar backstrap sandal in white which I LOOOVE, but I'm finding that in the time it takes to get the back strap secured on my heel, the little one has plunged out the door and down the steps on her own! Can't continue with that. Also the metallic hardware skews them slightly more dressy, so ideally something without hardware might be a better match. Sandals with thong between toes always give me blisters, so that style won't work for me. And usually other standard slides bother me due to the flapping of the sole (does that make sense?) / very open, uncontained - with a chance of my foot sliding out any moment - from them only being attached to the very front of the foot. The extra coverage on these, the thumbs up for team high volume feet, and the reviews of the super soft leather intrigued me. The distressed look would hold up well I think with the wear/tear, scenarios they'd be put through. So, I pulled the trigger.
My immediate thought was no. With them coming so far up on the top of the foot, it cuts off my leg line, which isn't the best look for my already-chunky ankles & calves. I went with the clover color to try to achieve as close to skin tone as possible to lengthen leg line. I'm wondering if this is a trendy/current look that I need to adjust my eye to?
Because oh my goodness they are like walking on clouds.
Honest thoughts? These were a big ticket purchase for me, so for the $$$ want to be completely certain of them...
Some pics with bottoms. Ideally I could skew them from casual to smart casual with skirts for church. If needed for accurate judging, I can update with toppers and/or more complete outfits.
