I don't know if it's because my eye has adjusted to fluid fit, but I find both of these jackets a little boxy. Maybe it's the combination of the fabric and cut. They certainly look classic and fit well. I'm not so familiar with your style yet though.

The sweaters look like good staples to me. I love the green but that is my sugar eye so I may be biased.

If I may, one thing I see is very similar, if not exact duplications, here. Being that you admittedly have a ton of v neck sweaters already, perhaps branching out a little in silhouette might be a neat idea?

I like the purplish jacket a lot. It doesn't look too small to me. The beige one is not as exciting to me. You look so good in vivid colors, that in comparison the beige seems a little drab.
The sweaters all look nice, although they're all so similar. Nothing wrong with that, but it would be fun to see you vary the silhouette a little more.

Overall, nice purchases! Now, what was actually on your list?

i agree with parsley, i really like the purple jacket, and i know that you are trying to bring more color to your work outfits. the beige one fits, but its not a 10, so i would pass.
i like the sweaters. again, i think that you were trying to add color. and it that was the goal, i think you achieved it.

The purple jacket is very pretty and I love the colour. (Radiant orchid!!)

But the style of the jacket does read as conservative or a little retro. If you are okay with that, no problem. So it depends on the vibe you're trying to give.

I agree with what the others said about the sweaters. They look quite similar. So maybe pick the one you like best. It's hard to judge about the colours but they all look good from here!

Aww, Mo and Marcy...two of these are scoop necks! I think the necklace makes them look more V-ish. With a larger chest, wide shoulders, shorter neck and a passion for necklaces, I really find that V-necks and big scoops are best on me. I have a couple wider crew necks that are ok with the neck length but the rest is just all boob.

Items on my list: black single-breasted structured/shaped longer-length blazer to wear with jeans or slacks and lightweight work-appropriate sweaters for very early spring. I ordered a couple sweaters (not V-necks) from Nordstrom's last week, so we'll see how those work.

I hope this is going to make sense. I think I remember you're in real estate? If so, I think the Lafayette style of jackets can be very, very good for certain instances. They're very conservative and affluent looking. Trustworthy, experienced. Hip, they're not but sometimes it doesn't pay to look hip.

Sweater example...here's what I'm wearing today for working at home. I love the sweater, but I think the neckline makes me look very top heavy.

Vildy, yes, I struggle with the balance between hip and conservative for work. I'd rather err on the side of conservative/classic when I'm working. I am trying to branch out a bit on the non-work side, but I seem to be taking baby steps.

I too like the purple jacket. I don't think the other is a10. To my eye, the sweaters are pretty colors but too similar and just not special.

I love the leopard sweater and my first thought also was to try it with a semi tuck.

If you're showing property for value and investment, then conservative is good. If you're showing multi-million dollar office space, then I would go with one of the YFL popular Theory jackets to show you have your finger on the pulse of the times.

All sweater shades look great - I do love the green best (my sugar-eye), but I feel it really works for you since you look lovely in contrasts and I think I'm seeing hints of auburn in your hair.
Seconding Parsley in trying the leopard sweater without the necklace, lot of pattern in the sweater already and it might benefit by not having to compete with the necklace.

I love the purple jacket. It may be slightly conservative, which is good for work, but the necklace makes the outfit quite interesting. Maybe it's the color or possibly the longer length, but I don't like the beige jacket so much. I like all three sweaters, but cannot see the colors well enough to comment on them. The fact that they are all similar is fine with me. I would have nothing to wear if I didn't duplicate a lot.

I especially love the leopard sweater. No, it does not make you look top heavy. There appears to be a darker area in the center of the sweater which may draw more attention to your bust than the other sweaters, or perhaps it's just my browser.

Wait a minute, Marcy. The leopard sweater makes me look slim-hipped?? I'm all over that! I usually try to play down the top heavy thing. Should I be playing it up so my hips look smaller??

I'm also liking the leopard sweater a whole lot better now! I'll wear it without the necklace.

Still a bit conflicted on the sweaters. It's normal for me to duplicate (Catnip), and they do feel like "me", but now I'm wondering if that's because I've spent so many years convinced that I should only wear V-necks.

Vildy, you've given me something to think about. I show about 50% very high end homes, about 40% mid-range family homes, and I try to take on one first time buyer each year. Maybe I could/should take the work clothes up a notch?

Just talking about the jackets I think you look good in them but neither of them look hip in any way. IMO you can look hip & yet still be appropriate for your work see alaskagirls posts on her work jackets or Suz's search for her navy suit/jacket. I was going to suggest the Theory brand too. My advice would be to keep looking for your black jacket.

If you are going for hip, I would pass on the jackets. If you are going for corporate, I prefer the purple one.

As for the sweaters, that all depends on how much you need replacing. Yes, they are basic, and similar, but if you have recently purged all of your sweaters, you may need this many.

Didn't you mention at one point that your high-end clients wear flip-flops and t's when they look at houses? (That caught my attention because of the incongruity of it.) To me, that says clothes for them that are "high-end hip" might be better. For that reason, I'd pass on the jackets and go with a more modern cut. The sweaters are fine, but I also seem to remember that you already own a lot of v-neck pullovers?

Liz, you're not supposed to remember that I already have a lot of V-neck sweaters;-). Actually, all but 1 or 2 are fitted and appropriate for work, so i'm okay adding more oversized casual sweaters if these look good. And yes, good memory about my clients. I do think I could step outside my comfort zone a bit. Even though they barely dress for house hunting, I'm sure their closets are stocked with stylish items.

Thistle, I'm still pondering my direction concerning the jackets. I pulled the tags on the leopard sweater this morning. I've been waffling on it since early last month. So glad I decided to keep it now.
