I caved and made an online purchase during the momorial day sales. I really adore white/cream sweaters and open knits, but I don't think this (from BR) is working for some reason. Maybe the length or the cotton thread with no stretch. I'm not sure, but I don't feel very fab.

The bracelet is also from Banana Republic, and I think I'll keep it. The green and blue are colors i wear a lot, and I'm enjoying wearing bold bracelets this year.

I like the idea of an open knit but this one seems like a skirt length top. What would you pair it with? Maybe something slightly longer and a little more relaxed would be more what you wanted?
I do really love the colors on the bracelet - BR makes some nice jewelry.

It that sweater supposed to be bodycon? It almost looks to small on the shoulder seam. Is is loose and cropped on the model? Like Christie says it looks almost skirt length. Beautiful color and open weave on you though.

I think an open weave sweater should be all loose and drapey. This one is "eh".

Here is the sweater on the model. I guess it's just not as body con on me as the model. I did get a medium, which is good, because this is not very stretchy and would not be comfortable in a small, plus the shoulders would be too small, I think. Maybe just not the sweater for me.

I agree with Anna, I like to see these types of top with more room and movement.

What everyone else said- this looks to me like very 80's, maybe making a come-back.

I think it's the diagonal knit pattern - it reminds me of poly sweaters from the 80s rather than the more meshy, loose weaves that I've seen more recently in this trend. And the waistband and cuffs are visually heavy as well, rather than looking open as seems key with this look. Love the color on you though (and your new haircut!).

Well you are wearing it just like the model, so it fits you fine. I'm just not crazy about the cut for some reason.

Can I offer an alternate suggestion? http://www.tillys.com/tillys/v.....8;cid=1065 I agree on the drapier, looser fit, especially since you are in hot FL. It's a more modern take.

Well, it's not bad but it's not great either. Around here we only settle for great, right? (See my Vince tops thread.) I'm glad you found the colorful bracelet though!

I love the sweater but I think the fit is not right on you. I'm wondering about sizing up? Or keep looking. This one is just not good enough for you;)

I like the material but not the fitted quality. Also the ribbing at the bottom is not wowing either. If it was slouchy and oversized or had something like an asymmetrical bottom I would like it better!

I like the open weave on you, and think the others have hit on the reason something's off and that is the drape and looseness of the top that may be missing. btw, YLF in your shorts! Love the bracelet, too.

The sweater made its way back to the store today, and I came out with two new things instead. I'm much happier with what I found this time around, though!
