K/R: I need a sanity check...

...because I bought 2 bright sweaters in Gap. The colors make me happy but I am not sure if I can really wear them.
1/2 Green / ink blue striped sweater. This is a thin cotton sweater so I am going to wear it in summer / spring mostly

3/4 Yellow sweater. I surprised myself by loving this shade of yellow. Usually when I try on something yellow I see right away that it is no good but somehow my filter did not work for this one. This is a cold season sweater with some wool in it.

The pictures are not the greatest (darn the winter light!), outside shots represent colors better.

What do you think? Am I crazy?

Emerald is the Pantone color for 2013, so I think the stripe will be a nice addition for spring and summer. It'll play well with your neutral palette. I like the stripe with your skin as well. The yellow is tough to say, because it looks so different in indoor vs outdoor light.

Love both of these sweaters on you Sveta! I bought same style sweater as your yellow - but in grey/white/yellow stripes and I love wearing it. Gap has some great apparel.

I like them both. If you just want to keep one of them, I'd keep the yellow.

Sveta, these look amazing. The striped one took my breath away it looks so good. I have mixed feelings on the yellow. Gorgeous color, but I wonder if adding a scarf with some other colour/colours closer to your face as I'm not sure the yellow is your best colour:)

Stripey sweater is really FAB- I knew before I saw the full pic it would suit you Sveta.
I also love the shape and style of #2, but am unsure of the colour with your skin-tone.
Does it come in any cooler shades?

Love the fit of both and the cooler colors in the first work for you. I am not a huge fan of yellow though. It could be the pics but I don't think it is the best for your skin color. If it came in another color, I would say snap it up because it does fit very well.

I love the first one. The second one is great, too, if you love the color (I'm not such a fan, but that's just me).

I like them both. I love the mix of stripe sizes in the first sweater and I always like yellow on others because I can't wear it myself (makes me look pink). The yellow will pair with so many colors and will look cheery in the winter.

Good to see you Sveta! I love the stripes, and I think the yellow is pretty good on you too. I look so bad in yellow that it's hard for me to be objective, but I don't think it's bad. Love the necklines on both of these.

Love the striped one, and the yellow one also looks good but it is hard to judge the color against your skin - yellow is hard to wear I think. If it looks good in real life they are both winners.

I should start by saying that I have a thing for color. But you probably already know that! I adore the first sweater! I'm unsure on the yellow with your skin tone, although I find the color quite pleasing in general.

A color block sweater can make statement without layering or accessories -- which is a plus. It could be layered over or under and would work with casual skirts, as well.

I like the yellow a lot more for both your coloring and your style. The stripes seem way more casual than I am used to seeing on you.

Thanks for chiming in. It is so weird how drawn I am to this particular yellow tone and I usually steer away from yellow. I would not buy this sweater if not for this color I think.
I bought both of them on clearance at Gap plus 30% off so each was about $25. I think I will keep both. Green should work well for spring / summer and I can layer yellow over white or denim shirt maybe? I need some color boost I think!

Love the green striped one on you. Can't tell for sure about the yellow, but my hunch is, if you love it as much as you do and had such a strong hunch to buy it, that is probably a good intuition! So go with it and enjoy.

I really like them both, but if you have to choose one, I like the stripes a lot better! Much more casual than I am used to seeing you wear.

I love the yellow one! Is it the Eversoft pullover? If so I have the vermillion one and I've been wearing it 2x a week since receiving it. I LOVE it.

I'm not a fan of the stripes because to me the color combo and something about the stripes (positioning? The mix of thick and thin?) reminds me of a sports jersey, and I don't think of you as a sporty dresser.

I'm someone who tends to quickly look away from yellow in the stores myself, so am surprised how much I LOVE the second sweater too! Please keep! (I'm not sure about the 'yellow with your skin tone' aspect --- maybe it's not your *best* colour, but I sure think it looks good. If in doubt, there's always what Deborah so wisely suggested --- a scarf or necklace.)

Strangely, as a lover of stripes *and* of blue-green combos, I'm not convinced by the stripes so much, to be honest. Hope you don't mind --- this is perhaps just a personal preference biasing me! --- but I did agree with Rae and Ariadne that this is unusually casual/sporty for your usual vibe. Yet I can quite imagine loving the same colour combo on you with a collar perhaps, and any one of the stripe widths...

I like the yellow one much better, and I think it looks better with those jeans. The other sweater reminds me of a green/black striped sweater I have (it was a gift) that I have taken a dislike to, though yours is more stylish I think.
