Yes, my days off lead to messing around in the closet! This Barbour vest is the one shade of brown that looks good on me. I've been looking for a quilted vest for a long time, something semi-stylish that isn't a puffer and also is gear-worthy for layering over shirts and under coats. I would consider it sort of inner-outerwear, if that makes sense. People wear this type of item around here a lot, sometimes even at the office when it's chilly.
This one has patch pockets in a somewhat unflattering placement - is that a deal breaker. Also, it's not a color I usually wear, although if I can wear it with black and grey that is good enough for me.
I've styled it here in some UWP/fantasy outfit ways just for fun, but hopefully you can see the fit and color.
Also shown are the ponte coated skinnies I had told Shedev about. They are of course longer on me than the model (although the seam hits her well below the knee also), but they are amazingly both comfortable and girdling. As I've worn them around the house I'm feeling more inclined to keep them. I'm including a picture of the legs as best I could take one, so you can see that they are a little loose on my calves (yes, my calves are too scrawny for leggings). On the other hand, that prevents the pants from looking melted on to me. I think I could get away with these at work, although not as I've styled them here!
Pic 4 is with a layering tee I used under the vest. I thought it showed my body type pretty well - broad shoulders, no waist, etc.
ALL FEEDBACK WELCOME! Only winners are allowed in the closet zone now! Just hauled 5 bags to consignment, so am feeling accomplished.
