K/R :: H&M LOGG Denim jacket

I was searching H&M stores for their denim jacket from LOGG range as soon as Ingunn (and later Carole) had posted hers, as would like to replace my old one - also by LOGG, which had earned my trust and attention because of that jacket itself.

The catch: in European sizing, the new denim jacket comes in size 44 as the biggest. That's the one I have on. The sleeves have good length and the stretch in the jacket fabric makes it comfortable. It hits me right where I want, top of the hip bone, it's the color I'm after and I like the style. But, is is snug?

For comparison, I'm attaching the old jacket as well. This one is from the same fabric (99% cotton, 1%elastane), but in size 46, which the new jacket is not made in.

The photos of the jackets are below. What do you think? I am not desperate to keep the jacket and would like your opinion.

hmmmm I like my denim jackets a little snug Ornella...
So not sure if my opinion is necessarily right...

If it doesnt "pull" anywhere maybe keep? I love the color it comes in...

I like the darker wash of the new one, and it certainly seems to fit you well through the shoulder. It's also a nice length especially over dresses or skirts. I think I'd keep it. You wouldn't be buttoning it up anyway would you?

Is this this one? https://www.hm.com/de/product/.....le=04278-A Because it's available online in a size 46. It's LOGG, although yours looks darker to me. I do have the &denim one from last year and I love it, but it runs soo small - I have it in a size 40.

I vote keep, Ornella. My jacket is also a size smaller than my ordinary size, so they might run big in general. I don't think it look snug at all, and it will probably give a little, too. The fit looks very good to my eye. It is so fun that both you and Carole now have that jacket:)

Okay, I'll be a dissenting opinion. My preference is for jackets to feel comfortable, if you feel it's snug, then maybe it is? I know that we don't button our jackets but it's my own preference that jackets are less snug so that you can layer. I'm always between sizes and I just size up if I can. Also, if you read any of Angie's posts she mentions that her eyes like jackets a little bit bigger rather than smaller.

Ornella, can you please snap a couple of pics with it styled and your arms down? It is a bit hard to say with your arms spread out this way and no full length -

I like it in theory but i must say it is looking a bit snug to me in these photos.

Astrid, I think that's the jacket. The price label attached to the jacket shows that the sizes stop at 44, so I'm confused to see that on-line shows 46 as well. I would have never thought of checking on-line for more sizes either (especially after the label being so explicit).

I think I could order on-line if P&P is free or might stop by at my local shop and see if they can order 46 for me, just to compare the sizes.

I liked the fit of the new one over the old which seemed big. Funny, I would never have guessed that you and I are the same size. Now I know who to get specific ideas from!

Oh! I actually like the older one better, what's the issue with it? It's a bit hard to tell from the photos, but I feel like if they made a 45 that would be best. It is handy to have both a larger and a more fitted denim jacket, but for a very casual life style you may find the roominess of the 46 more beneficial

Aida :: the new one is cropped just as I want it and is darker. I still like my old jacket, but the new one is definitely fresher.

From the photos (and it could mostly be the pose) the 1st one appears too small as in doesn't look like it could close (not that you want it to, but it should appear that it COULD) I like the older version - can you toss it in with the dark wash? Just kidding, I'm in dye mode as my shoe dye arrived today..

Angie :: interesting observation, I was inclined towards the darker wash. I should probably try styling the old jacket, which btw is so beautifully broken into, and post for opinions.

All in all, the dark jacket is definitely going back, as comfortable as it feels due to its stretch I think the reservations about whether it's showing as snug or not are enough to return it. I may try my luck with sizing up, but it won't be the end of the world if it doesn't work out.
