K/R help please.

Caro in Oz

I bought this jacket a few weeks ago (when it was way too hot to wear).
Since then another fabber posted & returned it because it didn't get a lot of love.

I'm starting to doubt myself now - what do you think K/R?
Honesty always appreciated.

Gee, I like it a lot. The blue is denim-like which is a favorite of mine, goes with everything. Plus, I like the texture, is it a bit rough? You look good in that shape.

I really like this for you Caro - I think the different shades of blue are stunning with your complexion and hair colour. I also like the boxy shape on you. I also think it's a piece that can either be dressed up or down which gives it some versatility.

I love the colors for you and the style seems very good. It looks like it would go with a whole range of blues, black, and white so seems really versatile. When I bring something like that home, I need to try styling it with the actual bottoms I have in mind, to see if I like the proportions, because that's the deal-breaker for me with jackets. If it works with several or more of your jeans and pants then it seems like a real keeper.

JJ - yes it is a little rough - which I like because I tend not to do too much pattern I do need texture to create different looks:)

unfrumped - I agree about the bottoms - I have several navy pants in different cuts plus this will go with all my darker jeans too.

I remember not liking it as much on the other person. Body shapes and coloring make a real difference though! This looks great on you. It is a slightly boxy shape, but on the right figure (yours), it looks really fabulous and somehow boxy but not boxy. It looks great with your hair color too. Definite keep!

I dont think I caught the other fabbers thread but I really like the cropped shape, collarless construction, and the rugged edge. The cut results a really stunning long leg line you see in photo #2 even without styling.

This is gorgeous on you, Caro. Love it!!!! For all the reasons the others have said, and also because it seems as if it's a bit of a change for you and will add a new silhouette to your repertoire, so to speak. You wear it well here.

It's so instructive to see how the very same item can be fabulous on one of us and just "meh" on somebody else...or worse.

This reminds me of the Rag & Bone sweater jacket I got last month only mine didn't fit as well as yours. I give it a thumbs up, this kind of jacket feels like a classic styling tool that works well with denim.

I vote keep. I like it on you and it will be useful for a smart casual look with blue or white denim jeans or skirt. I'm sure you'll find many more ways to wear it. The older I get, the more I love the structure of a jacket.

Hi Caro, I think I know this jacket having tried it myself!
(Sussan- right?)
I personally didn't buy because I already have similar in white, and I wasn't so keen on the hook-and-eye closure detail. (On me)
Having said that I quite like it on you, and the colour and style lends itself well to Autumn weather and longer-line tops underneath.
It is a good alternative to cardigan toppers too.

Thanks Lyn D it is Sussan. I bought it for the very reasons you describe - great for autumn instead of cardigans & works with longer shirts or tanks:)

Love the colour, texture and cut, so love it all, very versatile piece! Will be a workhorse:-)

Caro, I like this. The colour is great and it's that great classic cut. It is not as arty or architectural as your usual but I think it will work for you. I like the idea of wearing it with say an assymetrical skirt or pants with a long layer under the jacket
