K/R Help : BF jeans (or Do I see what you see?)

Ugh! Taking pictures is a lot of work - much less flattering pics! So, I gave up on flattering, raced the setting sun for some light, and have three BFs to sort out.

#1-2 vs. #3-4 vs. #5-6

Any preferences? And I'd love to hear 'why' because I am SO slow to see the subtle (and obvious) differences sometimes . . . I'll tell you what's what in a bit

Sorry about the pics where I had to edit/brighten up -- the better to evaluate those lovely rear views! (Egads, but my rear views are upsetting me . . . they won't last long here)

I prefer the pair in #3 and 4. They look like a better rise and shape and I think the lighter wash is more consistent with the BF vibe.

Another vote for 3/4. I like the wash best. it seems to flatter you more.

I agree that 3/4 is the best pair. I like the wash the best, and I think it's a more flattering fit. FWIW I think that the back view looks best in that pair, as well!

I agree with Dianthus, and I'm trying to figure out "why"! I have a similar figure, and I generally prefer darker denim. The light wash looks good, but is it because it is similar in color (tone? hue?) with your top giving you a longer line? Would a darker top give you a similar line with the jeans in pic #3? I can say that I don't like the whiskering in pic #1 as well. I think the higher rise in pics 3-4 seems more flattering. Which is more comfortable? Are they equally as stretchy? Nice to sit and move around in?

True confessions: I got some premium denim BF's and I love them because they are SO soft!

I like to pair them with tops in a similar color because I feel it lessens the leg-shortening effect of the crop legs as you did in pics 3-4. Was this intentional? Lucky? Either way it looks cute!

I feel like BF jeans are meant to convey the idea that you snagged your male partner's well-worn jeans. A lighter wash like 3/4 looks more intentional BF to me than a darker wash.

Interesting, geargirl! When others have posted their BF K/Rs and there have been different washes, I think I've always preferred the lighter wash. . . and probably unconsciously for the same reasons Arya just said.

I prefer 3/4, and I'm going to make a wee suggestion that you belt *just* enough to keep them from falling off you, and not so that they actually fit your waist. I think that will adjust the rear view to be more boyfriend-y, if you think that's the issue. Me likey!

Yeah, Sarah! 3/4 are tops in my book, too, and Una's suggestion is spot on and Arya's comment is very insightful!

I like #3 - #4 as well. By the way, I don't see anything wrong with any of the rear views and I'm pretty honest. I'd say otherwise if I agreed.

I prefer #3 and #4 too! But I think it's a low contrast thing with the top - which happens to be particularly flattering. The effect lengths the LLL.

Sara, you look fab! I find your rear quite riveting.

Sara, please keep in mind that the pics don't look like your body IRL! Notice how the lens is distorting you body: See how your legs are obviously foreshortened and the feet seem off. To a lesser extent this is happening to your head, and your trunk is enlarged. Cameras DO lie! (I am no judge of BF jeans and am terrible at telling one pair from another so I won't comment on that aspect.)

Suz - you ARE suspect - the only reason I sought them out was because of YOUR Citrine SBF jeans! What can I say, except - thank you!!

Once again, thank you, Angie for your expertise AND noticing the top! That was last years (or two years ago?) AT top. I LOVE it, my daughter LOVES it, and we keep hoping they'll reissue it!

Una, BethAnn, Claire - I wore them around the house all evening and they seemed to bag nicely. I hope now with a looser notch on the belt, I'll get the right amount of saggy butt!

DonnaF - thanks for the moral support! This camera is actually a little bit better than my last one. My daughter even commented on how short & wide I looked in its pics If I KNEW a tripod and more distance would be flattering, I'd be right on it!
