K/R Grey Jeans - Fashion Groundhog Day?

I love my James grey jeans. I have been looking for a pair of grey jeans with more fading to replace my jr's pair with cheesy sequins and weird fading on the back calves. I thought these were lighter from the on line picture, but now I'm afraid I'm just buying the same thing.

Are any of these different enough to complement my James Jeans? Or too much the same/ fashion groundhog day phenomenon? I am providing photos in different lighting conditions.

1-3 True Religion in Hot Lead

4-6 GStar (never tried this brand before but they have a really nice feel; they would need hemming)

7-8 CONTROL item -- James Jeans which I already own.

The new ones look very similar to me. I'm not a denim expert though. Both make your duppa look cute and perky though It looks like the knees fit better in the TR's though. Not much help, am I?

I think they are quite similar. If replacing, go for it. If trying not to duplicate, they are just slightly varied to my eye.

They really look similar. I like the ombre ones (True Religions) but they are not different enough I think. Unless you bedazzle them. Which I don't recommend. Sorry!

Yes, the differences are so subtle. However I see a cut difference in the G Stars, does anyone else see that? They are a bit looser in the leg, lower rise, plus the leg opening is wider so that one has a different fit look IMO, just because it has an easier fit. So (today) my gut feeling is to keep those but ... am I crazy?

Well, if you love them then don't feel guilty about an almost-duplicate! Especially if they feel different to you. There is something to be said for that strategy.

true religion. makes your butt look better than the control item. the gstars seem a little too something...the wash is weird with the fading in illogical places. (as if fashionable fading should have logic!)

They look quite similar to me, but if you wear the ones you have a lot, and like the new ones, there should be no problem to duplicate. You look TERRIFIC in jeans, btw.

Well I am loving this zoom feature - and it's getting a work out while I run thru your pics.
I don't like the GStar - while they may feel more comfortable for you, I see wrinkling around the crotch, which I don't see on the other 2, as well as not as flattering to your derriere - too much flattening.
TR and JJ - very similar. I've gone back and forth over the pics. I have a slight preference for the TR - but I think I am being swayed by your outfit. If I looked half as good as you in either of these pants, I'd be making room in my closet for both pairs.

I think the True Religion pair fits you best of the three. Very flattering and a lovely color. They seem like an improvement on pants you already own (which look slightly stretched out perhaps?).

They do look quite similar, but I see nothing wrong duplicating such a well loved basic for your style. I say go for it. I think I prefer the TR, such a great fit!

I think the TRs and the JJs look best here, though very similar. I think perhaps a lighter gray pair would be a more significant difference, though I've no idea if the TRs come in a lighter gray. If the fading is similar to the pair you're replacing, however, then the TR looks good to me.

Love, love, love the TR's. Can't put my finger on the difference from the control jeans, but I love 'em nonetheless and I want you to keep them! (You can always send the James Jeans to me! )

I am a HUGE G Star fan, as I know how comfortable they are. Did you know that they are designed so that when you sit down, then stand up again, your jeans also come up with you (rather than staying down low and needing to be adjusted). I love mine! I live in them! I'd buy another and another and another because I think they are the most amazing jeans ever!! I also like the long length of them. Roll them, allow them to scrunch around your ankles, or wear them with heels - I think they'd work either way.

The other pairs look great too, and they all look quite similar... so listen to the other girls too! And if you do that, buy a different pair of G Star!!

Thank you ladies for the feedback. The consensus seems to be that these are duplicative. But if I want a second pair, more people like the TRs. They definitely have more fading on the thighs which is what I was looking for. I think I need to think about this a bit more but Monday is my deadline!
