K/R Godet Hem Dress: Does it Work for Work? (Pic Heavy)

I ordered this dress, Kalyn by BCBGMaxazaria, in an attempt to cross a HEWI off my list. The criteria? A sleeveless dress that is not black and has a neckline that shows collarbone but not cleavage. The dress drapes beautifully, is a great colour for me, and is fully lined. It falls just above my knees and swishes delightfully when I move.

What do you think of the fit?
Are the godets just too much for work?
Any styling suggestions?

#1: On the model
#2-5: All angles
#6: Bathroom mirror shot to show the colour and cut of the bodice
#7: How I suspect it wants to be styled, with fancy shoes and a beaded clutch (I will have at least one wedding to attend this summer...)
#8: A dressy styling option for work, with a blazer, belt and necklace
#9-10: A more casual styling option for a warmer work day, with a white cardigan, belt and necklace
#11-12: Layered over my J.Crew Tossed Hearts blouse. Too girlish? I tried it with both my red pumps and suede booties.

It's adorable on you, Emily!! I love it best in 7 and then (surprisingly, to me) in 11 and onwards as a pinafore. I do go for that schoolgirl look (and it is on the runways for autumn) so admittedly that's a weakness of mine. But somehow I like it better as an over layer than as an under layer!

I think it's totally work-able. But also date worthy.

I think it's a keeper too! Just looking at the model picture it never would have occurred to me to try the stylings you have come up with.

PS...I'm grinning over the length difference between you and the model, but honest truth, I like it better on you. I wouldn't have looked twice at it on the model but on you it is just what I would want.

Oh my. Keep keep keep keep keep! This is practically the perfect dress! You can dress it up or dress it down...it fits perfectly...you can make it evening wear OR work wear...it plays well with other items in your closet. This is a home run!

I think it is a great dress and I would totally wear it to work (and I understand we have similar high-tech work environments).
Do you have a banded fluid sweater? It would look fab over the dress, similar to some looks from Angie's post.
Peri, this is exactly what I thought comparing the lengths: on me it would fit like on the model, in other words ridiculously short. Lucky Emily!

This is a PERFECT dress, and it looks perfect on you! It is definitely a keeper. I have a poison eye for the look in #11 and #12, but I still love the dress!

Thanks all for chiming in! I am pretty well sold, but I have one reservation... I really want a dress that will work (for work) in warmer weather. I am worried that with a blouse layered underneath it will be too warm. #9/10 was my warm weather styling attempt, but I think the cardigan might be too long and maybe a bit bulky with the gathers across the front.

Any topper/styling ideas for spring/summer? I guess I could stick with a belt and pumps...

@Suz and annagybe - the blouse layered underneath was my favourite look, too
@Sveta, I don't own a banded sweater, but I do like the idea of layering a pullover overtop for a top/skirt effect...
@Peri and Sveta - Yes, this is definitely an occasion in which it was beneficial to be short! A google search for the style turns up photos of people wearing it from Rent the Runway, one of whom is approximately my height. So I had a pretty good idea of where it would fall on me.
@columbine - I bought mine from revolve.com but it is also on amazon, the bcbg website, and 6pm I think.
