K/R: Gap shorts

What do you ladies think of these Gap skinny bermuda shorts?
I tried size 25 (photo #1) and 26 (photo #2). 26 came home with me but I can still exchange for 25.. 26 is slightly looser but not to the point of requiring a belt.
Is the length ok? Note that it will be strictly playground wear, so doesn't need to be "outstanding".
(By the way, they are on sale for $34.95, down from $49.95).

I have these shorts too - and I honestly can't see a difference between the two sizes in these pics. I prefer these bermudas much looser and boyfriend-like though, so perhaps I'm not the best judge here

Thank you! The do look almost the same - the material is only 87% cotton so there is quite a bit of stretch.
lisap - you think I should've gone with a much bigger size? Indeed, they do look much looser on the model, yet somehow hold without the belt. Anything above 26 would require substantial belt support for me.

The length looks good on you. I like the 26s. Since this is the GAP, you might want to wear them around the house for a few hours before cutting the tags - just to make sure they don't bag out.

I think both pairs look good on you. I don't like to wear a belt very much as I just don't find them that comfortable. So if this is playground wear, I wouldn't size up until you need a belt. I would stay with what will fit without a belt. That's just me though.

I agree with Sara - if you don't need a belt but they feel comfortable, they are probably the right size for you unless you wanted a very loose look. I'm leaning towards more streamlined shorts right now because some of mine feel too baggy at this point.

My experience with Gap is when I was on the fence but bought a bigger size, I regretted it. The bagging is the key. If you don't feel squished or too revealed in the smaller size, go for them.

They don't look much different to me. Personally I'd default to the larger size.

They both seem to fit, but I am not sure what is the "look" that you want to achieve. They are very close-fitting compared to the model and yet I can understand that the cut may be such that sizing up renders them problematic, and also that not everything has to be "not fitted." The length looks very good. I'm having trouble keeping up with fits! I can relate, however, to liking the way certain things fit me regardless of what it might be called, style-wise or whether it is on trend.

I think these look great (either size). I have been striking gold at Gap lately, and I might just have to pop over there tomorrow night to try on a pair for myself!

I like them, and I think either size is fine. Recently I've gravitated to the larger of two sizes, for comfort, when I'm between sizes. And I think this style is definitely supposed to be fitted, not oversized, but either of the ones you tried give the proper look.

unfrumped - I'm not after any particular look, as long as the length is more or less flattering! I don't think they are supposed to be as baggy as for example sexy boyfriends - I tried them in size 26 and they were literary falling off me; they are definitely much wider than these shorts. All the different styles and their fancy names are so confusing!
