This is my first thread, and I'd really appreciate your input! One of my major stumbling blocks in my wardrobe is shoes. I'm pretty good about picking clothes I feel good about, but when it comes to shoes, I feel like a dunce. I own very few pairs of fall/winter shoes - I think last winter I lived in my black dansko mary jane clogs - comfy, but I don't feel very stylish or polished in them. This season I intend to add oxfords, loafers, and a low black dress heel (to replace an older pair).
I got these oxfords yesterday http://www.zappos.com/frye-carson-oxford. They are beautiful - great fit, love the shape, etc. However, I'm a little nervous about the color. I got the "smoke" color which is a dark brown. They look great with my dark jeans, but navy blue is also a huge staple in my wardrobe.
1. Do navy blue bottoms (not jeans) pair well with dark brown?
2. Should I consider another color?
2. Am I demanding too much of one shoe? I have a tendency to think that any shoe I buy has to go with everything, which is probably part of how I got stuck in this shoe rut in the first place!
Thanks for reading!
