Ugh! Hard to believe I'm a veteran. I can't seem to decide on anything these days. (I probably should have taken the time to style this better. )Plaid blazer from Target and tassled loafers from DSW. I'm tempted to keep the blazer since the Olivia Moon one from Nordstrom didn't work out. It's very comfortable and I love the color. I 'm planning on pairing it with my blue Docs or my black lace ups. What do you think?

I'm undecided about the shoes. I'd like these to replace my grey flats and pewter wedges--of course, I'm not sure why I chose tan. It just seemed like it would go with everything and I didn't like the other color option which was black. I'd like to wear these with BF jeans and skirts until it gets too cold to go bare legged. Are these bordering on frumpy--or too preppy? I'm wondering if I don't have enough edge in my style to make these work. There was another uber comfy loafer by Ann Klein in navy (pic. 5)patent. They were equally comfy--do you prefer one or the other, or neither?

I think they are both keepers. The jacket is great and I much prefer the loafers you came home with to the black. I don't see them as too preppy at all.

We are Target blazer sisters! Have to say, it really looks snappy!

I'm afraid, tho, I'm not feeling the shoe love. They do feel really really preppy to me.

Great blazer! I also prefer the tan shoes to the black ones but personally, I'm not crazy about the tassels. Can you remove them (if you wanted to)?

I love that blazer, now I'll have to talk myself out of it because it won't go with anything. Sigh.

That blazer is SO cute on you! Love the plaid. It is very close to my family tartan (Murray of Atholl.)

I quite like the shoes, too. I would say they are TAUPE more than tan. (If you saw my taupe posts last week.)

Love the alligator detail.

I'm not a tassel lover so would probably get rid of those if possible, but that is just personal preference.

P.S. I have been thinking the same thing about my own indecisiveness. I feel like I can't pick a decent outfit to wear on my own these days. I don't know what's going on with me! Some veteran!

The blazer is very cute!

I like the shoes in the close up better than at a distance, but that may be because I'm not much of a tan/taupe person. I like the croc-like texture -- is it metallic?
Like Suz, I'm not big on tassels, but these are cute. I guess I'm a bit on the fence with the shoes, so I may not be much help!

Love the jacket and love the taupe shoes, incl. the tassel. They look more unusual than the AK, and since they are taupe, give you a longer leg line. The tassel kind of references your hairstyle.

Thanks for the feedback. My indecisiveness is annoying me to no end. I just can’t seem to make up my mind on anything these days.
@Kim: Thanks for the reassurance. I don’t think I would have given the shoes a second look a few years ago.
@Una: Thanks! I was so surprised this fit. I never find jackets at Target. The sizing is really off though--this is a 4. In my case, I had to divide my normal size by 2.

@Suz: Yeah, we are some Veterans, eh! Glad you like the blazer--I’m pretty sure it’s not close to my family tartan. I’ll enjoy it for you though About the shoes, youu are right, they are taupe. I thought the texture was kind of fun and I liked the tassels.
@Janet: Thanks! The shoes have a croc metallic top, suede for the balance and a stacked wooden heel. I think they look better close up too. I’m on the fence with you.
@Donna: Thanks! I’m really drawn to this kind of neutral footwear. I find it so much easier to wear than black (at least during the spring/summer.) It could be harder to wear in the fall and winter though.

SUper cute blazer, Kelly! I think you will have loads of fun with that this fall and winter. I hate to be a party pooper but I'm not loving the shoes, I'm not sure if it's the style or color but they seem a little "mature" if you know what I mean.

Love the blazer on you. Keeper for sure. Not in love with either of the loafers, I think there are plenty of trendier loafers out there right now that would look killer on you.

The last are sort of pricey, so I'm just linking these for educational purposes. They both have that mens tuxedo slipper vibe which is so fashionable right now.

The blazer looks fun and comfortable and I like the taupe loafers too. I actually like the tassle detail. Have you thought of wearing the tartan blazer with something sparkly under it as in Angie's post with a sequined top under a plaid shirt?

LOL, Kelly, I hear you. I keep thinking one of these days I'll grow up and stop having to ask you all for help every time I shop. I think it's getting worse instead of better for me! (Except that I am getting more confidence to disagree sometimes with the majority).

Anyway, enough about me. That blazer is ADORABLE on you, and I may have to run out to Target and snatch one up. What is it made of? Is it TTS? I think that the loafers are quite you, actually. They are cute, and I think you'll wear them, if I do say so myself.

Both are nice. The blazer looks particularly good buttoned as it has a great shape. I think I would like to see a greater contrast in what you wear under the jacket as in the photo the detail of the jacket is a little lost. The shoes are cute but I have to declare that I don't love loafers and these ones just look a little ordinary. I think you could find something a bit more modern looking?

Keep the blazer and keep the loafers! I have a nude patent pair that are going to get a lot of use during our spring/summer. I didn't really like them and never thought I'd buy a pair but the SA in the shoe shop where I was browsing was wearing them with cropped black trousers and a cream and black striped top and they looked so good I tried on a pair and they looked just as good with my jeans. And they'll go with a lot of things in my "new me" wardrobe. I think a lot depends on what you wear them with as to how they come across, i.e. modern, preppy or mature. Here they are...

I love both items! The blazer looks like it will get a lot of casual wear and the colour is wonderful on you. The loafers are trendy and look great on your legs. Tassels and all. Keep!

I like both the blazer and the shoes, but I'm not 100% sure I like them together (I know, sorry). What I mean is that together it def. is a preppy vibe. That's not necessarily bad, but it just gives me more of the preppy image with both pieces (plaid and tassle loafer). And since you mentioned a concern about looking too preppy, I think it matters.

That said, comfort is so important to me in shoes and I have a very hard time finding that, so if they are comfortable and go with a lot in your wardrobe then maybe keep. If not, then maybe look for something with a different style.

Then again I just ordered 4 more pair of loafers in a desperate attempt to find good fall/winter flats that fit (not tassled but ties so kind of the same style category of preppy I guess). I tried 8 pair of animal print flats first - trying to find something with a little more flair - but none of them felt good to walk in.

Shoes and handbags are harder to me than clothes.

@Carole: IKWYM about “mature”--that was my fear. I don’t think my conservative style makes these look very fashion forward. Thanks for your honesty! Those shoes are the same ones that Kathleen posted You and she have great taste!
@Denise: I love your suggestions. Thank you. Initially, that was what I was looking for but every pair that I tried was stiff and uncomfortable. I did really like the overall look though.
@Joy: Great idea! That hadn’t crossed my mind. I fell in love with Angie’s sequin and plaid look. I have the perfect sequin top to wear under this too!
@sarah: Isn’t that the truth! I definitely think I’m getting worse at this decision making stuff. The tartan blazer runs big. I’m usually an 8 and I took a 4 in this---talk about vanity sizing!

@texstyle: Lol! I didn’t style this outfit. I just threw it on with what I was wearing. Comfort is a big selling point for me too--I just got rid of a bunch of shoes (that I think I outgrew.) The slipper flats that I tried were all so stiff--these are so much more comfortable. I am willing to sacrifice a little style to have shoes that I can wear all day!
@Shannon: You could be on to something. I was looking through my old WIW’s and was thinking how much I disliked some of them. Perhaps my tastes are changing.
@Una: Good luck. I hope you can find one small enough for you! Did you try the Olivia Moon? It is lined but the shoulders were too tight in the medium for me. It may work for you. It’s super cute!

Not reading the other comments, I adore the outfit as is. I really like the shoes and vote keep, they are a great color to extend your leg line on a bare leg. And I'm a sucker for blazers, plaid is fun for fall and I like these colors against jeans.
