K/R faux 'Rockstuds'...

This is my first K/R, and I really need some help (or enabling!)

While shopping for sandals, I stumbled across these faux Rockstuds. On a whim tried them on, and they fit great (accommodating my bunions). The issue is, they are 'man-made' patent and I am a bit of a leather snob. The fabrication is good, with the studs grommeted (not just glued on). The insides are soft and slightly padded. What do you think?

The fabrication is good + they fit great + they're SUPER CUTE = KEEP!

They look fantastic Carla and I think that man-made leathers are much better quality these days. IMHO if they are comfortable and don't break the bank, they are worth the try.

In fact I love the look so much and the fact that they accommodate a bunion makes me ask what brand are they?

i think they look great….but i'll be honest, i find man made leather shoes uncomfortable because they make my feet sweat and end up smelly, but that just me…..

Go for it. Nothing wrong with vegan shoes. I love them, and these look great.

I like them on your foot and agree that if all the boxes are ticked, then try them. And as Shannon asked - what brand are they? I'm keeping half an eye out for something like this. I've only seen bad knock-offs here and would like to actually take the time to sit down and try on a nicer pair.

Well I passed up on a chance at a faux Rockstud and regretted it ever since, so there's that. (But eventually found a ghillie flat that suits me even better.(

Re: the not-leather, this shoe doesn't cover very much of your foot, so you won't get sweaty and stinky the way you would in, say, an oxford.

I think they look good in the photo and would be way more about the current fit and cushioning than faux or no faux. I can often tell with faux and with patents that there will not be enough give, from the get-go.
Also I have to be super-careful that the vamp does not cut across any part of bunion area, too--those can feel okay to start, but will not make it through the day. That is why I have done better with more coverage where the shoe vamp tapers in well above that area.
Meaning I have had poor comfort in real leather, too, if other fit boxes are not checkes.

I'm similar to KKards. My feet don't do well in man-made fabrications. I have tried too.

On my feet patent leather and faux patent can feel fairly similar on a low coverage shoe. Patent leather doesn't stretch either and can eventually show creases that go beneath the surface. Faux patent can sometimes eventually develop a crack at the edge of the opening where they flex. So neither is super long lasting but for occasional wear at the right price I love the look.

Just chiming in to say I'm a leather snob, too. Are these Halogen? I have those, and assumed they were leather. They do fit your tricky feet, so that's a consideration.

The shoes are Diba - a brand I am not familiar with, though I did read up on them after making the purchase. Picked them up at a downtown Winners in Toronto near where I work.

My main concern, is with the sweaty/stinky feet thing, but like l'abeille pointed out, they don't cover a lot of the foot. Also, since I actually got a 1/2 size up, I could add a thin absorbing inner sole.

Unfrumped and rabbit, those are other thoughts I had. A pair of patent leather shoes that I have and quite like aren't as breathable as regular leather, and they do not have any stretch at all. Also, there is the bunion issue. Sizing up with the faux R/S's seems to have provided a deeper vamp by a smidge.

At $40. CA they don't break the bank! So, I think I will wear them around the house for a bit, and see how they fare. By the time I'm ready to go bare legged (April?) I'll 'cut the tags' and expect nothing more than a summer fling.

I vote keep. They are cute, don't break the bank,and more importantly, work with your feet. I've been having very good luck lately with "vegan" leather.

If they are comfortable enough to get by, I vote keep. They are fabulous looking, and I am looking for something very similar for spring. I have Rockstud dupes with short heels, which are quite comfortable, but flat shoes work better for my day-to-day life.

They're cute. And, um, they are already "fake" Rockstuds. So I'm not sure fake leather is a huge leap at that point, since they do look nice, etc...
Also assuming they are more a "for fun" shoe than a daily workhorse, I say great find, especially in the flat!

As long as they pass the comfort test, I vote yes. They look well made. I bought two booties from Diba last year that I like a lot. I'd never heard of the brand, either.
